I just had a most pleasant experience with a Stater Bros. employee -- Bridget, from Bookkeeping, answered my phone call...I was calling regarding an item I liked very much...this particular item had disappeared from Stater's shelves !!! Well, even though I knew how busy the stores had become with all this Covid-19 reactionary / chaos....Bridget was most accommodating , and cheerfully walked all the way to the back of store to look for my coveted item.....SMOKED SALMON CREAM CHEESE SPREAD...she sadly informed me the spread had been discontinued!!! I was in shock...why would Stater Bro's make such a decision??? What sort of Tom Foolery had transpired ??? Bridget was very comforting to me, especially after I told her the spread was the ONLY reason I bought bagels...and THEN...after just moments of our mutual grieving for the SMOKED SALMON ...She came up with a, MIRACLE ON 34th STREET suggestion..."Why don't you shop at Von's and look for your spread there?" Imagine that...a Stater Bro's employee suggesting to me to shop at another store !!!! Bridget, Bookkeeper at Stater Bro's Super Market, you have managed to restore my FAITH in mankind...thank you Bridget, from the bottom of my heart, and keep on doing what you're doing...giving kindness to a complete stranger who was distraught over some silly bagel spread... oh, and Stater Bro's, you should be very proud Bridget works for you....BRAVO !! From now on Stater Bros. will be my #1 grocery store for ALL my shopping even though they discontinued Smoked Salmon Cheese Spread...
I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE OWNER DIDN'T RESPOND...
Read moreI've been shopping at this store for the longest time and will continue till I'm 6 feet under. I pretty much know where everything is that's on my shopping list so basically I'm straight in and out. The staff and check out employees are super friendly and you can make good conversation with them the time your groceries are being swiped. I've seen staff members get all dressed up for Saint Patrick's day, Halloween, not forgetting Christmas just to name a few, which I think is pretty down to earth people. So anyway, the fresh meat products they sell are excellent, I've never had any old or 'off' meat from them at all, the veggies are also fresh and not a blemish on the fresh fruit either. They fry their own chicken which in my opinion tastes like that chicken that was fried in Kentucky ya know!! There's huge sub sandwiches too and at a very reasonable price. I can go on for days about the great fresh food that's made by the staff on the premises especially when it comes to the cakes, omg!! I forget what it's called, but I know what it looks like and it's the bomb!! I've got to eat it in one sitting, I can't eat half of it, stick it in the fridge til later, no way, it ain't happening, I'm eating it til it's gone. The next time I'm in Stater Bro's I'm gonna get a piece of that cake and take a picture of it, if I don't eat it first, and post it so you'll know what I'm drooling over and trust me, it's well worth the price and that's for sure!! I'm giving Stater Bro's in Big Bear a 2...
Read moreThis stores staff has really gone downhill lately.
Today I found that I had to fight for a parking spot, because carts were littering the whole lot, like nobody was collecting them at all today. I had to walk all the way to the end of the cart corral in order to get a cart at the front of the store...that's how many carts were strewn about the parking lot.
Then, when in the store, I constantly encounterd employees who were moving through the store in a manner that forced me to have to go around them. These employees were not pushing carts or anything, it was like they were literally trying to get in as many shoppers ways as possible. Happened a lot while I was just walking down an aisle. It even happened while I was waiting in line to checkout, not even moving! The employees can't even be bothered to go around a stationary object!
If the customers are in the employees way while waiting to check out, maybe it's an indication that you need to start staffing the baggers again so the lines don't get that long in the...
