Aldi has aways been one of my favore stores. Having said that, today I had the worst experience I have ever had in any Aldi. I was at the Big Rapids store and was ready to checkout. Now we all know what a pain it is here with them wanting everyone to go to the self checkout that DOES NOT ACCEPT CASH. Several of us were waiting for a cashier and a manager or I assume she was, told us register # 1 so we headed that way and a nice lady a little older than I, told me to go first as I only had a few items. So I thanked her and went to the register and waited. A minute later a young man came up and started running my items through. He seamed mad about something and I said hello and smiled and he just glared at me like I kicked his puppy or something. I just said nothing and he continued literally throwing my items in the cart. when he told me the total I handed him a twenty dollar bill which also seamed to make him even more upset.Then he handed me my bills and held his hand above mine and just let the change drop all over the floor. then he just sat there watching me pick up change off the floor that he dropped. I stood and made sure he was face to face and I looked directly in his eyes and said Thank you. He never spoke a word and as I headed for the door I noticed he was slamming the older lady behind me the same way. Needless to say I wanted to report him but of course Aldi keeps all of thier stores number unlisted. That alone makes me suspitious of any business. We would never run any of our businesses that way and to my cashier Jailyn, If you intened to make it anywhere in life and business, you will take that chip off of your shoulder and treat people with respect, you act like you are above your customers. Well little boy you got that all twisted, we don't shop there for free and I will be warning my friends and my customers not to shop with Aldi anymore. Aldi...You need to treat your customers with respect, and for goodness sake! Learn to vet your emplyees better. And really?? I used to love this store for all the gluten and dairy free items. They have low priced veggies, but they go bad quicker than had I purchased them from a bigger market.
The last two years I found they offer less and less gluten free items. Disappointed I gravitate toward the larger chain of markets to get GF & DF items along with fresher veggies and self checkout.
Self checkout? I really detest how most of the cashiers at Aldi throw my groceries in a heap after I've spent an hour carefully selecting them. I set the heavy items on the belt first. So what do they do? They reach around grabbing things to smash with the heavy items. And why do they have to grab your bread and chips with a crushing grip as if sacks of potatoes and drag them carelessly over the scanner. Yes, I'm planning on crushing it all into crumbs when I get home. Isn't that why most people buy chips and bread? I wouldn't treat potatoes in this manner let alone bread! I try never to go to the new cashier's line as they are the usual culprit in this.

Read moreJust shopped at the store in big rapids today. I have seen this cashier in the store for several years now and he even rang me up a couple of times. Never once saying Hi or a thank you. I ignored him all these years because it seems he just has an attitude with everyone. Today I seen a dime on the side of the cash register and pointed it out to him. He did not acknowledge that he heard me and just shut the cash drawer. So I said it again and he then yelled at me in front of everyone that he heard me the first time. This was totally uncalled for, I thought I was helping him out so his till would not come up short. I just read another review on this same cashier. My receipt says his name is jailyn. Why is this person in the customer service area. Someone with this attitude should not be ringing people up. I will never go to this location again. I have never had an issue with any of the other stores. I understand people have bad days but this is everytime I have seen him and he treats everyone this way.
