Today I took my 11-year-old grandson to get his haircut at Supercuts in Big Rapids Michigan on Perry Street. He knew what he wanted for his style and cut. I didn't see a list of prices so I asked. They told me $24 plus $3 for a shampoo equaling $27 in which I paid. I thought it would be less than that. My grandson is okay with his haircut, but it wasn't done like what he had hoped for. I was not impressed with the lady who cut his hair. She spoke very loudly and she spoke to the others in the salon while my grandson was the client sitting in her chair. At one point she stopped for a couple minutes to talk to someone else regarding a grocery store and the prices. She did not converse much with my grandson at all. I sat and watched the entire experience. She seemed to have rushed a bit and was distracted from talking so much to others, and not paying attention to my grandson, her client. Needless to say, she did not receive a tip. For the price, there didn't seem to be any professionalism. I must say, we were not satisfied, and are disappointed. One thing is, she cut his bangs shorter than he wanted... he wanted them down to his eyebrows, and they're to his mid forehead. I would never recommend her. Sports clips down the street does all that, and a shoulder massage for $21.They had a long wait, we needed a walk in and Supercuts was...
Read moreA bit of a lengthy review but just have so many good things to say. I have been âplatinum blondeâ for years now. Iâve done most of it at home but been to a couple salons here and there. That being said my hair is VERY processed. Iâd go months in between redoing it so that gave my hair some very prominent harsh bands. I was nervous to go to just any salon and see just any hairstylist so again it was put off for way too long. Finally I got sick of it one day and called Supercuts but was very adamant over the phone about having someone with experience and Amanda jumped to my rescue. She got me in that day even on a tight schedule. Obviously this was my first appointment with her and I was extremely nervous but she brought me in with open arms and eased all my nerves. She kept very good, open communication the entire time about what I wanted and my opinions on her progress, making sure she was doing exactly what I wanted. She was very fun and personable during the waiting periods. I learned she has 20+ years experience including owning her own salon and just recently moved to this area. My hair turned out even better than I pictured from the color to the cut!! Needless to say my experience was amazing start to finish and I wonât be going to anyone else!! Highly recommend Amanda to all family...
Read moreFirst visit here. I brought my granddaughter in for a trim and face frame. Grace was sweet with bright pink hair, but as I watched her cut I wondered if this would turn out well. I wasnât sure if the scissors were sharp and she sloppily sectioned off the hair. She had shared that she attended the local vocational center for cosmetology while in high school and was a â23 grad, but didnât assure me she had received anymore training after that. I was disappointed that my granddaughter was not given a full blow dry after the cut because it was cold outside! About an hour later my granddaughter pointed out to me the unevenness of the face frame and I also noticed her ends seemed uneven. I called the salon and spoke with Jennifer about it. She said all stylists have a bad day, which didnât comfort me much, but she offered to fix my granddaughterâs cut. My time has value too, so Iâm put out that we need to return for a do over. A professional salon should BE professional. We are going in today so I will update soon. UPDATE: Jennifer addressed the issues and we were happy with the results. Thank...
