If you're an older while male coming in for a few groceries, don't expect to be greeted by a friendly face at checkout. I was just in the store for a few groceries, and the lady who checked me out barely even looked at me. When I thanked her for checking me out, I think she said "all right", without a second glance my way. And don' t ever bring a backpack into the store, as I made that sorrowful mistake. Not too long ago, one of the checkers damned near tackled me and instructed I am NOT allowed to bring a back pack in, that I could place it by a checkout counter until I was through shopping. I was happy to oblige, but the tone and gruff demeanor nearly made me walk out the door in shame and embarassment. I'll think twice before going back into this...
Read moreI do not know if it is the culture of this town but I have had several negative experiences at this store. Employees do not say excuse me when they almost run in to you. Nor do they help you when you are clearly lost and they are staring at you waiting for you to move. But today was the last straw. Today my grandmother and mother in law went to grab a few things as they love this store. The cashier began to ring their orders together. My mother in law asked “are you ringing this stuff together?” Cashier replied “ well is there a bar separating your orders or not?” My mother in law replied “ there is no bar but there is a huge space between them and she is still unloading” the cashier was tall, mid 50s, dark hair, and very poor...
Read moreI have been hesitant to visit Town & Country Foods since Lucky's closed. I was a huge Lucky's fan. I went for the first time today and OMG have I been missing out! It's a great store with great staff, great produce and a nice salad bar. I can't wait to go back!!!
I went back today (July 9th?) to get some sliced lunchmeat and cheese for sandwiches. It was a small amount since I live by myself and eat little and felt almost embarrassed and that I was wasting their time. But the nice ladies behind the counter assured me I was not wasting their time; that this was their job. It was refreshing being waited on people that enjoy their jobs!
