South Boutique The Summit — Local services in Birmingham

I have been a frequent shopper of South for several years. However, the quality of clothing has dramatically decreased in the last year or so. I purchased a romper last month and had issues with the zipper in the store. I had to return it the next day when I noticed the zipper was broken and would not zip up or down. The store refunded the romper to a gift card and I ordered the dress pictured here online. In less than an hour of wear, this dress was quite literally falling apart. It had four separate holes in the top layer of fabric on the very first wear. Later, while shopping at the Tuscaloosa location, I saw the same dress with multiple holes in the fabric in the same areas. As cute as the clothes are at this boutique, the items are not worth the cost if they can only be worn once or not at all. I am so disappointed. This was one of my favorite shops...

The women working in the store today, 11/16/24 have incredibly bad customer service. My friend has tattoos and ripped jeans on, as that is her style, was targeted for shoplifting. After she walked away from items, the store clerk immediately walked over and started counting the items to make sure that she didn’t take anything. Another store attendant followed another girl the whole time in the store for shoplifting. I worked in retail for 10 years as a manager and regional manager, that is not how you provide good customer service or even protect your items. Bad service, bad service! I would never, ever shop in that store. Now if you want to be targeted as a shoplifter feel free to walk in. Know this, my friend owns two businesses and had $60,000 worth of jewelry on her hand. One of my favorite clothing boutiques at the summit!! They always have the cutest tops, pants, dresses, sweaters, shoes, and jewelry! Only downside is they are sometimes more on the pricier side; however, the prices for these brands are almost spot on with any other retailer that sells these items, so it makes sense! It’s also nice to be able to shop these brands local and try them on before committing to the item. The employees are all so nice and seem really happy working there! They are all so accommodating, conversational, and willing to help! Not to mention, the manager is so sweet and really a class act! Highly recommend supporting...
