Love the store itself but my God, customer service manager - Carrie, needs A LOT of training in her customer service skills. Extremely rude and unprofessional. In today's world where customer service is so important she fails at it miserably. Every time I go there I hope that someone else will check me out but my luck always leads me to Carrie. I was buying burlap table runner and she refused to touch it because she claimed to be allergic. Fine, no problem. But when I didn't pick it immediately to her wishes she shoved the bag into me rudely. Another time she was listening to a private conversation of my mom and mine about receipt and made a snarky comment to me. Then I was trying to return stuff I didn't use for my wedding and she made a fuss about it. Rolling her eyes, was slow on purpose, left for 5 minutes to check the price (hello, you have computer and walkie talkie), and then questioned my intentions. One time she literally got into argument with me and didn't want to accept my coupon even though it was valid. Every time I am being treated like an intruder even though I am always polite and smiling. She makes me feel like I shouldn't be there and you know what? I think she is right. I will not be doing my shopping there. There is Michaels on Army Trail not even 5 minutes away and that is where I am going from now on for all my crafty needs. At least I am not being treated like piece of crap there. Whoever own that particular store, please send Carrie for training - she is not...
Read moreI had a disappointing experience at this location. On Friday, 9/5, I purchased a shelf in the home décor section for $43.99. While I felt the price was a bit high, I decided to buy it. The following morning, 9/6, I went to the Lombard location to pick up additional jars and noticed the exact same shelf priced at $31.99, plus an additional 50% discount, which appeared to be part of a sale running from 8/8–8/13.
I returned to the Bloomingdale store to discuss the discrepancy with the manager. Unfortunately, the interaction was not handled in a friendly or apologetic manner. Initially, the manager offered to match the $31.99 price but did not acknowledge the advertised sale or the inconvenience caused by the inconsistency. I believe all store locations should honor the same pricing and promotions to ensure a fair customer experience.
Seeing the item later advertised on sale only added to my frustration. This experience has left me dissatisfied, and I do not plan to return to this store...
Read moreIf you are not white or Christian they will 100% treat you different. This is the second time i’ve been accused of scamming a return and double checking if “the flowers were cut” and if the paint was “used”. Wasting 20 minutes of my time simply because i’m visibly Muslim with a scarf. Not to mention the stares. I obviously didnt know about the history of the company and how racist they are but it seems to be a requirement for their employees as well. It is 2022. this company should not be allowed to exist, especially in Illinois. I have worked retail for almost a decade and have never treated a person the way they have even though.I worked around conservative people who tend to be microaggressive towards me and never once stooped to their level. Disgusting. Do not shop here, Michael’s is...
