The absolute worst grooming experience I've ever had. I dropped off my 72 pound golden retriever and my 100 pound Saint Bernard for their first grooming with Pet Wants in Blue Ash at 10:45. I was introduced to 2 groomers and we had a very quick review of the services I wanted.
For the St. Bernard: bath, de-shedding, nail trim, paw pads trimmed, and a very tight trim on her sanitary area/back end.
For the golden: bath, de-shedding, nail trim, paw pads trimmed, and a very light trim of his sanitary area.
I got a call back from Pet Wants at 11:55. Yes, you read that correctly. Both dogs were finished with their services in an hour ... There is just no way. Literally.
The golden was completely dry. I've owned dogs that require grooming for over 30 years. Dogs with double coats. Not once have I ever picked up a dog from grooming that didn't have a damp under coat. I'm questioning if they used dry shampoo? In addition, all his feathers and his entire back end were trimmed. Not only did I get things I did not want, I truly question how they bathed and dried and trimmed him in only 1 hour.
The Saint is a senior, so she isn't able to stand for most of the grooming. She was, as expected, quite wet when I got her. Her paw pads are poorly trimmed, with areas not done at all. Most of her nails were not trimmed either.
The pricing was in line with other groomers in the area -- $256 for both dogs, including the de-shedding add on. But rest assured, I will never be taking our pets back here for...
Read moreWeâve brought our mini golden doodle to this grooming location for years and always had great experiences â until now.
We got a same-day appointment, which was appreciated and seemed convenient at first, but now itâs clear why: the new staff was cold, and the groomer was immediately rude when questioned about the reasoning behind the steep price increase she advised when we arrived.
We were quoted $95 for a Level III groom (confirmed by the front desk), but were then charged a $20 matting fee and a new $30 âscissoringâ fee â totaling $150, a 60% increase from earlier this year. Our dogâs coat had been much longer in past visits. The groomer said to âgo elsewhere if you donât like itâ.
When we picked our dog up after the groom, the base price for the Level III groom had been changed in their system from $95 to $130, and on top of that was a credit card fee was tacked on. The whole experience felt dishonest and manipulative.
After sharing what happened with friends, we learned of other people having similar issues with the location.
Sadly, with the new staffâs attitude and lack of transparency we wonât be returning â I wouldnât recommend this place for...
Read moreI had been going to Pets Wants for years with no issues. Several months later she offered clients if you paid in advance your pup could get an extra like cleaning the glands or massage for prepaying. There may have been a lesser charge. I bought either 5-6 future appoints. Unfortunately sometimes life gets in the way and she said that only 1 grooming was left from the prepayment. She also said I missed 3 appointments and I couldnât come back after this last paid one. While calling to confirm my appointment she said prices went up. I wasnât concerned since I paid. I thought since I was prepaid I didnât owe anything or they could have charged their new charges. Well, when we picked up they tried to charge me $57.00. I was furious and the said they have a new owner who is not excepting and old agreements like myself and others. She said I used my last ticket. I told her to tell him he will never see my dog for services. If you decided to up your rates thatâs on you but you should have treated your existing ones better. It would have been nice before the family came in about your...
