I visited the store this afternoon. I'm in town from the Philadelphia area and googled comic stores. A to Z had more positive reviews and a great rating so I decided to stop in. I arrived and Debbie the owner was on the phone, so we waved to each other and I began my digging through the back issues. After finishing her call, Debbie immediately came over and introduced herself, then explained the comic layout. I was in the store for over 4 and a half hours. Debbie was respectful and courteous to everyone she interacted with on the phone and in person. She also was very knowledgeable. The store also has a strong card gaming community. Other stores that offer gaming usually are lopsided. Meaning that the store gears the layout and expertise towards that customer and comics are something else that they stock. I usually won't shop a store that supports gaming because the gaming tables and player block the comics. That's not the case at A to Z. The back issue comic inventory is very diverse and impressive. The pricing is great. They also carry discount comics, which is always a win in my book. I have been collecting comics since the mid seventies and Debbie is the nicest comic store owner I...
Read moreI've been bringing my business to A to Z since I was buying products with allowance money nearly 20 years ago, even when they were at their old location just down the street in the late 90s. Debbie, the owner/operator, is always very friendly and accommodating of customers. There's always the nice personal touch that the handful of employees are people who have been there for years, some are family and others are customers, but they remember the regular customers and are always happy to answer any questions you may have about any given product. If I had to give any cons, I'd say that on busy game-day nights it can get really crowded, but that's any shop that runs game events and A to Z already expanded once in the past and has twice the space they did before. There's more than one reason that this store has such a loyal customer base - I'd give them my personal...
Read moreIn short - PHENOMENAL comic book shop. Amazing selection of back-issues, and at bargain prices. They're even objectively (and accurately) graded by the owner, and marked on the price sticker. Which...by the way...is further discounted at the counter, when you go up front to pay.
Went in looking for about a dozen books. Walked out with 38.
The owners are incredibly nice. Happy to have a conversation, and more than willing to help customers find what they're looking for.
A to Z Comics is the Gold Standard for this particular area of the country. All other shops would do well to mold and shape themselves after this incredibly charming "mom and pop" shop.
This will be a regular stop for me,...
