Revised.... again!!
Not sure where to even start. Last night, I went to BS Price Chopper North to pick up a few things. As I was in self checkout, I was talking to my brother about my mom's funeral which is being held today. He was confused on the time. The young lady running the self-checkout laughed and talked about her father being a minister and all the hysterical events that have happened around funerals in the past. Very inappropriate for what my brother and I are going through right now.
This morning, I stopped to pick up more than three dozen roses. The cashier simply tossed them down the bagging ages with no care whatsoever. Thank you, so very much, for the kind young man who gently placed them into my cart. His care is so incredibly appreciated and meant more than anyone would know, especially today, and I'm incredibly grateful.
Finally, I went to the customer service desk to speak to management about the young lady who finds funerals hysterical. She is usually incredibly kind and cheerful, I just thought she might be able to use a bit of coaching when it comes to sensitive matters. However, one manager was involved in setting up something on the customer service desk, and ignored me entirely. For the record, I know he saw me because he said hello as he walked right past me. The second manager took a phone call and went to the back of the customer service area. After several minutes, I finally left. When it comes to customer service, and customer care, this is by far, they absolute worst Price Chopper I've ever been to. Please, for the love of God and everyone who visits your store, acknowledge and recognize your customers. Some of us are suffering and need kindness and customer assistance, rather than being ignored or having to listen to "hysterically funny" stories about the funerals of others. Shame on you as a business!! Seems like all of your employees need training on common decency and customer care.
Frankly, I do not expect even a comment or acknowledgement as no one from management has bothered to do that in the past.
Revised... Apparently I am not old enough to shop here. I like to use the assisted checkout lanes to help people keep their jobs! Two separate individuals waved elderly individuals on before me. Mine you, I had four items. While waiting in the third line, a manager came out and called the elderly lady behind me over to another line so she could check her out. I am very ill today, ran into get four items. And was discriminated against because I'm younger than the other shoppers? So much for trying to help people keep their jobs! You just lost one of your most...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is my regular Price Chopper and in the past everyone has been extremely helpful and nice. Today was the exception. I used the self checkout because I only had 3 items and have never had an issue. It wasn't until I was ready to pay that I realized that the pad wasn't working. 2 people from customer service came over and neither seemed to know what to do other than have me rescan on another machine which I did. I wanted to make sure that the original transaction was canceled so I wasn't charged twice. The younger of the 2 individuals who had originally come over to help canceled the transaction but the screen was still spinning after that so I asked again. The response was that of course it wouldn't go through because there was no power. I just wish she'd left her attitude somewhere else because her tone was just a bit too hateful to suit me. If the scanner didn't work it should have been taken out of service to begin with but don't act put out with the customer for something that's clearly a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOne checkout person with no bagger, older man who 'takes his time.' Young man sweeping around registers, two ladies standing in self-checkout area, chit-chatting. Instead of waiting in the older man's growing line, we decided we'd use self checkout. Of course, the register keeps yelling at us because we're trying to bag our things. The ladies chit chatting stop long enough to tell us to not touch our things. Then take a rude tone and tell it's really 'Express' and not meant for full orders. So we point out that there is only one lane open and several customers waiting. Also, sign says 'Express/Self-Check' which generally means either/or. Maybe if less people were doing busy work or chit-chatting, another lane would've been open and it wouldn't have been an issue. It was all I could do to keep my husband from just walking away and leaving our things after the rude and snooty tone the lady took. We go here nearly every week, but will be rethinking...
