We purchased a leather reclining sofa and matching side chair in October, 2015. We were reluctant to purchase leather again because our previous set from another manufacturer had problems fading and the faux leather in the sides of the cushions was cracking very badly. The salesman at La Z Boy showed us that the leather was dyed all the way to the back of the fabric so it wouldn't loose its color and we could purchase a 5 year insurance policy to cover any problems including any cracking of the faux leather if that should happen. The leather on our new sofa and chair has been perfect, but about six months ago we noticed that the faux leather on the sides of the seat cushions was starting to crack and split.
We called the store and they referred us to ServeCo which now handles our policy. We then called ServeCo numerous times but kept getting the run around that we didn't report the problem soon enough, the policy doesn't cover normal wear and tear, etc. We then went to the store to discuss our problem and they said they would look into it.
A couple of weeks later a gentleman came out to take pictures of the splits in the vinyl siding which by now were numerous. Then about three weeks later we received a call that a decision had been made to either replace the sofa or give us a store credit for the original purchase price. We don't know if this decision came from ServeCo or from La Z Boy corporate, but either way we are grateful. Since we would still have the reclining chair we opted to replace the sofa even though we have some reservation that the new one could eventually have the same problem.
I would like to add that the clerks at the store have always been very helpful and considerate and even assured us that they had never seen the splitting that we experienced in the many years they had worked...
Read moreI returned to La-Z-Boy as a previous satisfied customer. I had actually bought a recliner there perhaps 15 or 20 years ago and it’s still functioning without problem and minimal wear on the Leather I am shopping for furniture to furnish my new home, with an upgraded modern look. I shopped many other stores in the area. I found the modern piece that I wanted, it had all the comforts That I was looking for. I was initially helped by a sales lady named Michelle, and she was very sweet and patient. She then suggested that I utilize their complementary design service, and they made an appointment for their in-house design specialist Jelaine Goldapper to meet me at my New home that I hadn’t even closed on yet. She Took measurements of the whole house and subsequently did a virtual set up, including the piece that I was interested in from La-Z-Boy a modern couch and made sure that my 6’ grand piano was going to fit the design, as I am downsizing considerably in my move. I then met her back at the la-Z-Boy store for a second appointment and she spent nearly 2 hours with me, sharing her ideas with me, including options for other furniture, including bedrooms that were not necessarily available at La-Z-Boy. this was truly remarkable service . I also have to add that the La-Z-Boy couch was the most comfortable of all the leather modern look couches that I had looked at, and it wasn’t necessarily the most expensive, And it’s made in America and has a limited lifetime warranty. To summarize , I could not be happier with the service I received at the Boca raton La-Z-Boy store. Jelaine has actually continued to contact me with various idea ideas, As I continue to furnish out the rest of my home .I recommend La-Z-Boy products and the service at the Boca raton locationwithout...
Read moreIn a recent visit to this store, we encountered a sales person who was uninterested in making an easy commission. We were looking to buy two swivel chairs. As we entered the store, we saw two which were acceptable, based on the pricing. They were neutral in color and probably would have been an OK fit in any environment.
I believe the sales person’s name was Amy; she didn’t bother to give us her business card. After we browsed around for 20 minutes, we asked her if we could get a swatch of the fabric and she basically said no, which is unheard of. Then she asked us to put down 30 percent of the cost of the two chairs as collateral. It wasn’t clear if we could get the credit back when we returned the swatch so we said passed on it. If she had made a little effort in being interested in making a sale that day, she could’ve have. We left the store and went back to Haverty’s for the second time.
Once we got back to Haverty’s, we asked for Glen and just like last time, he was gracious and interested in making sure we found what we were looking for. We tried out a couple different chairs and decided we liked the ones at the front of the store. He offered us the opportunity to take the swatch home and try it out, but we really liked the chairs and placed the order. The chairs were delivered three days later, on a Tuesday, as promised.
On Friday, we received a call from Glen as a courtesy to make sure we were happy with the chairs. I was very impressed with the way he does business and how he makes the customers feel special. Again, I would highly recommend going to Haverty’s and...
