I typically stick to Joann Fabrics and Michael's for my business needs, but I could not find true purple beads ANYWHERE. I looked online and finally saw a possible match for what I wanted, and it was at Hobby Lobby, AND it was on sale.
First things first- the parking lot is a bit odd, as is the location of the store within the shopping center it is indicated to be a part of. Though signs at the corner of Weber and Boughton say Hobby Lobby is part of the shopping center, I luckily k ew it was detached from the strip mall, but is actually located a bit down Weber. It is accessible through the strip mall parking, but it's kind of a maze. It is also accessible further down Weber Rd.
When I got to the store, I was shocked at the variety and pricing. I found what I was looking for, PLUS was able to find better matches for bead colors than what I paid a much higher price for days earlier at Joann Fabrics.
The only drawbacks I saw was that signage did not indicate that 2 of the items I selected were not included in the sale, and the length of checkout time. The 2 items that were not included in the sale were still a MUCH better deal than what I received at Joann Fabrics (with them running a sale PLUS a coupon on top). Read moreWhen I went to check out for my 6 items, my card was declined. Sometimes the stripe (yes, old card) gives me trouble. I tried again. Still nothing. I finally decided to pay in cash and figure out my card issues later when there wasn't a line of people waiting. I asked the cashier if she could just take a few of the items off since my cash wouldn't cover it. Longtime cashier Vera (?) was beyond annoyed and told me that the entire transaction would need to be voided because taking off the things I didn't want was difficult. Not ever working at Hobby Lobby, I could not argue what the process would be like for her, but could only apologize. However she showed such attitude toward me and this process that I felt shamed for my faulty card. Between rolling eyes and grumbling under her breath. I paid for my items and left and could see she was glad to see me go. Wow. (Btw... when I got to my car and called my bank, I found that I was subject to fraudulent activity and the bank put a hold on my account until I verified the funds. Read moreI felt compelled to leave a review after witnessing an incident at this Hobby Lobby location today. A customer became upset and shouted at a young employee, accusing them of saying her child stole something. From what I overheard, the employee was simply enforcing store policy—reminding the customer that gift cards at the front need to be paid for. The customer’s reaction was completely unwarranted and unfair.
As a frequent shopper at this location for over 8 years, I can honestly say the employees are always helpful, attentive, and professional, and the sales are fantastic! I want to specifically applaud the young employee for remaining calm and respectful under such a stressful situation. I don’t think I could have handled it as well myself.
