On 4/29 I went to the Homegoods located at Bay Landing in Bonita Springs to return a plant that I had bought at the Cape Coral location. I have shopped at Homegoods for years and have never been treated with such a disrespect and lack of customer service by a "manager" if you can even call her that. The manager Bridget Monahan was rude, disrespectful and insinuated that I had not purchased the plant at Homegoods because the pot that the plant was in was not right and the mulch was falling out. I kept trying to explain that was the condition that I purchased the plant and she kept insulting me. How could I have known if the pot used was not an adequate pot for that type of plant? I do not work in retail to be able to know this things. She even had the audacity of telling me that "no customer would buy a plant in that condition without demanding a discount". The plant had the price tag intact, she was able to find the purchase item looking up my credit card and on top of that I had a receipt and she still refused to accept the return, demanding that I go to Cape Coral to return it. Homegoods is not a boutique and you are able to return any item at any Homegoods as long as you have a receipt, a tag and the item is in the same condition as it was purchased. Long story short I would never return to that store again and it is a shame that Homegoods would hire those type of individuals that just give the store a bad reputation. I talked to some of my work associates that usually shop there too and they also have had issues with Bridget Monahan. She is a disgrace to her management position and is creating negative customers...
Read moreI usually have a wonderful experience at this Homegoods location, but I was so put off by my experience today that it ruined my shopping trip. I had a return and met with Cynthia at the register. Register 3 between 5pm and 5:10pm. I had bought a glass waste basket on my last trip and upon arriving home, I saw that there had not been enough packing paper and the basket had chipped. Upon explaining this to Cynthia she looked at the basket, looked up at me and said 'I find that hard to believe- did you drop it?' in the most condescending voice imaginable. I asked her why would I lie and she just scoffed. I then pulled up my virtual receipt in my emails. She told me the basket was not on the receipt because none of the codes matched. I showed her two other receipts before returning to the first receipt when she finally acknowledged that the basket (with description and price) was actually on it. She asked for my card to process the return. I told her I paid with cash. She said she 'could not just go around handing out cash to people'. I showed her my receipt where it said paid in CASH. She said 'Fine.' After that, I walked around the store browsing for close to an hour, but was so perturbed by that miserable encounter that I ended up only buying a pillow. (Note: my past two trips to Homegoods I spent around $200 each time). I wanted to speak with a manager but didn't want to deal with that ray of sunshine, Cynthia, any longer. If you're so unhappy and rude to customers, just quit, Cynthia! I hope the manager contacts me and teaches this employee proper...
Read moreI just left HomeGoods and although they have very nice things in there, I was very disappointed in the way things happened when I got to the register. The gentleman at the register was very pleasant. I paid cash and he didn’t have enough cash in the register, So he called someone on his earbuds for more money for his drawer so he could give me change. He apologized for the wait. no one was coming, And after quite some time, no one was still not coming. So the lady next to him at the register helped him out by getting on her earbuds and asking for the ETA on that cash. She mentioned it was for a customer. An older lady with gray hair rushed over, opened up a drawer behind the register and took out change. She proceeded to come over to the gentleman that was waiting on me and opened up his door and put the money in. She was so quick and rushing him, she was making him frazzled. She should’ve just either given him the money or put the money in the register like she didn’t walk away, but she didn’t. he wanted to put the amount of money that I gave him in the register so it would show what the change was. She said to him in front of me “ Oh, come on now your old school you should be able to figure that out.” I cannot believe she said that to him. I had all I could do to keep my mouth shut and not tell her that I felt that was totally inappropriate for her to say that to him number one and number two in front...
