I went yesterday to see the Wonka film and realized I had left my wallet at the theater. I called the next day on my way to work to see if it had been found after giving a description of what it looked like, what auditorium we sat in, and what seats we sat in and was told (by a man whose name I cannot remember) that they had indeed found it and that it was located in the office. I stopped by that same day at the end of my shift to pick it up and the manager, Justin, went in and checked the office. He was only gone for maybe 30 seconds at the most and came back to tell me that he couldnāt find it and that I had to leave my number for him to call me later if he found it. I expressed my confusion considering that I was told earlier today that it had been found and that it was in the office already. But Justin said that no one had been in the office that day. Frustrated, I left and waited for a call and not even an hour later got a call from Justin that they had found it. I asked him where it was found and he hesitated before saying that it was found on the floor in the auditorium. I drove back to retrieve it and the lovely person at the counter called the managers on the radio that I was there again. The person received no answer on the radio all the while we were hearing laughter and talking from the office. This kind person went and knocked on the door to grab it for me all the while Justin and the other manager said nothing to me. There was no sense of urgency or hospitality from the managers here, as we all know that losing a wallet is stressful. Iām appreciative that it was found but the quality of assistance and the miscommunication between employees and management led a lot of confusion and āhe said, she said.ā Was a disappointing experience to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe only good part of my experience at this theater was the ONE staff member that I interacted with at the concession stand.
The restrooms were awful. Half of the stalls had "out of order" signs on them, another didn't have a lock, and they were SO messy and stinky. The paper towel dispenser was empty and the one electric hand dryer had a line 5 people long. There was toilet paper all over the floor. Yuck.
The concession stand was out of popcorn (15 minute wait for them to pop more). They were out of Pepsi. Out of bottled water. Totally unprepared for theater patrons.
The theater that our movie was playing in (auditorium 5) was small and the volume was entirely too loud. I guess it was turned up so loud to drown out the obnoxiously loud AC unit. Hearing the AC kick on and off throughout the movie was obnoxious.
There weren't any staff members checking/scanning tickets or directing patrons to the correct auditorium. It was chaos and I'm convinced that 25% of the people in our auditorium didn't actually buy tickets to see the movie because there were zero available seats by the movie start time, but people kept filing in, trying to find a spot to sit.
The trashcans in the hallways were overflowing, causing popcorn scraps to be strewn across the floor.
My only positive experience was the kind concession stand associate. Despite them being sold out of the items I wanted, she was kind and patient as I sought alternative menu options.
I cannot believe that a theater in a tourist town like Boone is THIS bad. I'd rather commute to Johnson City or Wilkesboro over ever stepping foot back...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family of 3 saw Lilo & Stitch today. After reading reviews we were a bit concerned but willing to eat the price if we needed to. However, we were pleasantly surprised.
We did put in a little effort so here's what to be aware of.
Get the Regal app and sign up. It's free, quick and easy. Now you're a free "member".
This gets you movie tickets on Tuesdays for $8. Total for tickets was $24 for 3 people.
You also get a free small popcorn. We upgraded to a large for $1 and you get free refills. So for $1 we got unlimited popcorn.
Concessions are expensive. A small drink was $7, but I'll say a small drink was huge. A large is like a gallon jug. We got a bag of candy too. I don't recall how much that was.
Our total was $37 for 3 tickets, a large popcorn, a drink and candy. The staff was very friendly and the theatre was clean. The seats are outdated, but clean and the volume was normal for a theatre.
You can also become a Regal Paid Member for like $22 a month and get unlimited movie tickets. So if you live around this theatre or a Regal and plan to watch 2 movies a month you break even. Watch more than 2 and you win.
You do need to be thoughtful, prices on everything have gone up over the past 3-5 years so we have to think smarter and in my opinion we don't have to slam the theatre. They have some great options to save money as listed above and hey take it back to the teen years, stop by the grocery store and sneak in a bag of candy and a coke. They aren't checking bags...
