Dillard's in short runs like an old style slave plantation. Definitely not a secure job options for retail careers. For what's suppose to be a high-end style department store Dillard's does strongly discriminates against certain skin tones as a part of their daily security and surveillance protocols and restricts employee breaks regularly
I'm not speaking on terms of a bitter customer, but as a former employee with inside knowledge that shocked me to my core. I eventually voluntarily resigned from their slave plantation after just 3 mths. I was once a Dillard's customer, but unaware of their undisclosed work ethics, SPH ratings, and unaware just how unappreciated the employees there are treated by this corporation.
There's something about the Dillard's environment that has grown more and more uninviting. But they were a household trusted name so I didn't second guess it.
Once on the Dillard's team and a part of the so-called "Dillard's Family" the ugliness was as thick as river mud.
I would never purchase anything from Dillard's that has been on their sales floor longer than one week. Sanitation is a BIG issue here, clothing returns are extremely high. After customers has kept purchased clothing items longer than 30 days, and perhaps worn the items once or twice. Nearly anyone can just bring back their night out on the town leftovers and get their money back.
i.e: The formal dresses in women's & juniors are gross and mostly returned clothing. If the item is smelly its still hung back on the rack for rebuy. Cross-contamination post-covid is at an all-time high at Dillard's. But customers are still expected to pay FULL PRICE on worn, slightly used, but slightly new clothing.
The only decent thing still in place for this store would be their clearance rack, and handbags. So thoroughly thoroughly wash everything you buy before wearing Dillard's items. —Unclean merchandise returns, outdated unclean fitting rooms, poor air quality and cooling circulation, plus an overworked rude staff. There's no wonder why their employee turnover rate is at an all-time high with this department store....So good luck and happy shopping the...
Read moreI was in the store today with my mom, dad and my little daughter. We were at the fragrance counter deciding on a gift for a family member. The lady in the fragrance department, (very sweet and helpful) was busy with another customer and asked if we would mind until she finished with her customer before assisting us and we were completely fine with that.
We decided to browse at other items while we waited for the associate to assist us so we walked around the ladies purses and wallets. I noticed a little while later another female associate from the jewelry department glaring at us, I didn’t really know why or if she was in fact looking at us, but I didn’t think much of it and continued to shop with my parents. Shortly later, she comes toward my whole family and this time is with a bigger male associate standing in front of me with her arms folded glaring at me and my family once again. I then realized that she probably thought we were shoplifting or something because she was now following us all (including my 2 year old daughter) around as we walked. It made for an incredibly uncomfortable experience and not once did she ask if we needed any help! Absolutely horrible customer service!
We returned back to the fragrance counter and the friendly associate helped us with what we needed and we left.
Wont be returning, I would be happy to do my shopping at JC Penny instead, where we are not treated as criminals and everyone has always been so sweet and helpful to me and my family which has always made our shopping experience...
Read moreI purchased two perfume sets and the next day I decided to return them before opening the boxes because the tester didn’t set well on my skin. I was treated with so much disrespect by the perfume department because I was returning something I had purchased. They saw me taking this picture that I was going to send to my mom to see if she would like me to buy this Versace set and they approached me saying that I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE PICTURES in the store specially after returning something. I also explained to them that I am a Spanish Influencer that has vlogged in their store for years and I had NEVER been told I couldn’t vlogg. They literally wanted to kick me out even tough I was going to buy something else and their words were… why would you buy something if you will return in anyway. Are they so desperate for their commission they get to treat people like this? The manager looked and me up amd down because to be honest I dress very humble. I feel discriminated. The manager said they have their own marketing for their store and they didn’t need any influencers. Ok.. your page receive 10 likes in your posts at the most while my Chanel gives you...
