I believe it is my responsibility to describe my experience in the fairest way possible, for people to have the best idea. It is also helpful to mention that I am a graduate student, for context. I wanted a haircut that wouldn't put a dent in my bank account, something that metropolitan areas like Boston are notorious for. I went in, a day in advance, to gauge the price and book an appointment - the lady at the reception told me it would be $45 (wash + cut) and I promptly booked the appointment for the next day. I asked for a specific stylist because I read good things about her. The haircut was okay, I have to give credit where it's due. She did a good job, she is very skilled, and I was very happy with the result. However, when I went to pay I was charged $110 - I would say that's quite a jump from the price that was quoted to me. Keeping in mind that students don't have a disposable hundred bucks lying around, I would definitely suggest the salon be upfront with what they would be charging. I am taking this with a grain of salt and would be skeptical about going in to this salon again in the future - but, and I am stressing this, it is only because of how the payment process was handled. Update after a couple of weeks - It is important to mention here that the haircut is heavily reliant on styling. If you don't style your hair after washing, it looks like a mess. This has not been my experience with other salons. And I have straight hair (naturally), before this haircut, I wouldn't style unless it is for special ocessaions. Now I have to because it's quite uneven and chunky. So yeah, I have to go and get it fixed...
Read moreFirst, I have to personally thank Jen and George for taking care of me; both were so gracious and patient with me as I navigated my way through a horrible hair coloring experience I had at a different salon.
After having a botched coloring at another salon that left my hair blue and green (instead of a dark gray), I was recommended to go to Jen at Haute Coiffure to have my color fixed. I reached out to her the Sunday of Thanksgiving week in a frenzy because I was so embarrassed of my hair color; unfortunately she didn't have availability until the following week. Jen graciously reached out to her manager, George, to see if he would be able to see me before Thanksgiving.
George was able to accommodate me the Monday of Thanksgiving week. When I arrived, he sat me down in the salon chair and took the time to understand what I wanted with my hair; he looked at my current color state and talked me through what he would do to fix the color. Every step of the way, he explained what was being done so I wouldn't worry - I appreciate this so much.
In two hours, George absolutely TRANSFORMED my hair; he took out all of the blue/green hues and gave me a gorgeous charcoal gray color that complimented my existing undertones. He made recommendations for products to care for my color until I could come back in 4 weeks to get my color toned.
I cannot say enough great things about this salon. They are understanding and talk you through what's possible/not possible with your hair color. They truly know what they're doing and know how to make people feel great about themselves.
I highly recommend...

I had to comment here regarding of the owner responded. You actually did good try to cover what he did that day but unfortunately you know truth.First of all; I can explain myself better than even you. I havenât had any communication problem since last many years.Let me speak about your incorrect response. He canât understand English very well so that I had to show pictures if you donât believe me, you can still check through camera to see the truth so another thing is that my hair cut took around 20 minutes not 45 minutes.(You can still check through camera or I can prove it )after that I had told lady who charged me at the register and then she asked me what happened When she saw my face.I said that look at me I have hair everywhere on my neck and in my ear.You shouldâve asked to her our conversation what I complained about.he didnât even ask me to wash my hair and I asked him to bring something to clean my ear and then you brought cotton swabs .The funniest thing is that money I was expecting pay more than what I was charged because my friend had told me the price as I said that I paid lessđđ âLET ME KNOW IF THIS EXPLANATION IS NOT ENOUGH TO REMEMBER EVERYTHING.I CAN GIVE SOME DETAILS TOO,â
