TL;DR: Trans women stay away!!

I went to see Rosemary for electrolysis on my chin. I felt confident that she must be qualified because of the large number of good reviews. But this could not be further from the truth. Like many trans women, I have course, deep rooted hairs on my chin. While it's possible Rosemary is qualified to treat less difficult areas, I have been left physically and emotionally traumatized by my experience. After only a single pass over my chin, spread out over three sessions, I have been left with very visible red pits on my chin that are still present more than three months after treatment. I even had a cyst develop deep under my skin where I received treatment, which later got infected and took weeks to resolve, and left a huge acne scar. Immediately after treatment my skin was extremely traumatized, my chin swelled to twice its normal size, was extremely painful, and was oozing for days. When I told Rosemary about this she told me it was no big deal, and when I told her about the deep unsightly red pits that persisted after treatment she stopped responding to me altogether. It is NOT NORMAL for your skin to ooze for days after treatment, and it is NOT OKAY for an electrologist to painfully yank hairs out of your skin when they are stubborn. It took finding another, qualified electrologist to figure this out. I have now received two treatments from a different electrologist, using the same methods and needle type, and had almost no reaction whatsoever, and healed completely in just a few days. I'm always skeptical about going to places to have my eyebrows done. I have had really bad experiences so I make sure to do my research before going somewhere new. I've seen a lot of good reviews about Total Skin Care so I figured I'd give them a try. From the moment I walked through the door I felt welcomed. The receptionist was nice. She greeted me with a smile and made me feel so welcomed. I was also very impressed with the woman who worked on my eyebrows, Rosemary. From the moment we met she was very respectful and understood what I was asking for. She took her time with me and made sure I was happy with the outcome before I left. Rosemary definitely has a lot of experience behind her and it shows. Although this was only my first time here, Rosemary made me feel so comfortable there and made it feel like I've been coming here forever. Another big thing for me was how clean she was. I hate going places that are obviously dirty, and not cleaned after each client! Thankfully Rosemary's work area was very clean.
