Haviland Street Garage — Local services in Boston

Smelly, Seedy, Sketchy, Back Ally. I can't imagine there is enough light at Fenway to keep this from being dark and scary at night. It's right downtown Boston, which from a Bostonian's perspective, is a rather safe place. But this place isn't worth it's weight in convenience with regard to comfort/safety.

Nor is it any savings over larger garages...The google Maps image of this place says there is a $10 max charge for the day. I paid $25(the going rate..) for 4 hours. And it is a Cash Only kind of business, literally.. When I asked for a receipt, for work, to claim the expense; the attendant just scribbled "PAID 25.00" on the back of my stub and handed it to me, like that should look official enough to my employer!?

What else I especially didn't like about this place was that they TOOK MY KEY!? It was tough enough running around Boston as is, but to do so without something as important as a key was kinda scary. I seriously needed to pick the only garage in town that would take, something as important to me as my car key, out of my/it's normal routine.? I take that back. Now that I think of it it's these smaller lots that do that. But they're always as expensive or more.

They(we'll talk about that..)..took the key without checking my ID. The lot has about 20 spaces, on one level, under a building. There was no need for Valet. And if I lost the stub; and happened not to have my license, or had a registration other than what's on my license(like a rental car,) I don't see how they could need to legally give my key back anytime soon? hence the reason they shouldn't ask for something like that to begin with.

None of the bigger garages come between you and your keys. If you lose your stub you just pay the max for the day. But this business would add insult to that injury by chancing some part of your personal property as important as a vehicle key!?

There are like 4-5 guys working at once, and others "Hanging Low" in that filthy alley! But again the lot is tiny. So what happened? There was one guy swearing at his girlfriend on the phone, one eating, one wondering around like he just got done talking to himself, and two talking. Finally they finished their conversation and I had to get my car myself, anyhow.!?

I will not park at this lot again, nor recommend it ever. There are 3-4 other parking garages close by, that are; cleaner, safer, and much much...

If I could give zero stars, I would. This was by far the most stressful and unprofessional parking experience I’ve ever had. I parked my Tesla here using their valet service — big mistake. They GAVE MY KEY TO ANOTHER CUSTOMER.Yes, you read that correctly. They handed my Tesla key over to someone else entirely. That’s not just careless, it’s a serious security issue and completely inexcusable. To make matters worse, the staff were rude, evasive, and downright shady when I confronted them. No apology. No urgency. No ownership of the situation. It felt like they were more concerned about covering themselves than actually helping resolve the problem. And here’s the real kicker: they later offered to “split the cost” of the lost key with me — a clear admission that they knew they were at fault. Imagine losing someone’s property, and then asking them to cover half the damage. A Tesla key isn’t something you just “misplace” — it’s essential to the vehicle’s security and not cheap to replace. I’ve been left dealing with the fallout because of their complete lack of professionalism and responsibility. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this garage. If they can’t manage something as basic as not giving your car key to the wrong person, they shouldn't be handling...

Awful place to park your car at, staff is rude, they don't take credit cards so you have to get cash on your way back to pay for parking, I didn't get a receipt as well, because the guy who worked on 10/23/2018 said we don't do do receipts. Then I tried to call on 10/29 hoping to get somebody who could check either or not really I can get a receipt for parking at that location to expanse it (it did cost me 23$ cash). Unfortunately, the only thing that was in my car from them, it was a label attached to my car key that i lost, but i thought maybe they have some sort of accounting who parked at what time etc and could track it down to see if i really parked their or not. The person who answered the phone did show 0 interest in helping me out saying their employees would never say they don't issue receipts then just hung up on me. Will never park at that location again and would not advise anybody to do...
