Not a big restaurant, no frills, no fuss. Since this is a “Dumpling Palace” we decided to try one of their dumplings. We ordered Mini Juicy Buns with Pork. “Juicy Buns” basically meant soup dumplings. It was a bit on the salty side, but had a good amount of ginger in it which was nice. The wrapper was nice and chewy, I just wished if it was not so salty… Not the best soup dumplings I’ve had. For main, we ordered Hearty Noodles with Pork & Vegetable and Vegetable Fried Rice. The portion here was HUGE! Even though the soup dumpling was not a hit, we were happy with their food. Not amazing, but good Asian comfort food. So, we actually went back again on a different day to try some other dishes. This time, we ordered Ma Po Tofu and Yang Chow Fried Rice. They were both good, but as for the fried rice, I preferred their vegetable fried rice over the Yang Chow. Most of the staffs here were nice, but I felt like the older staff were only nicer to the Chinese customers and returning regulars… I didn’t feel as welcomed… The food was good, not amazing but good. Comforting and with the huge portions, super affordable.

Ordered combos for take out: - shrimp and edamame - ma po (mapo) tofu (spicy) And added on fried rice for one of them. Could not even believe how bad they were. Genuinely atrocious food, Shrimp and edamame: a lie of a name, this was actually (nearly all) tofu with peas, carrots, and shelled edamame in some sort of bland cornstarch / congee soup. No mention of tofu in the dish on the menu - what if the person has dietary issues with it?? Ridiculous! There were a few small gummy and quite rancid tasting cooked from frozen shrimp added in seemingly as an afterthought Mapo tofu: this was a small pint tub of what seemed like cornstarch/ tomato soup with again peas and carrots (do they just dump a handful from a frozen bag of these into every meal?), Totally off - mapo tofu should have Sichuan peppercorns and be blended. This was a bizarre texture and consistency for this dish. Did not taste spicy - just bland. Fried rice: was just wet white rice with again peas/ carrots, some bits of egg So disappointing, don't waste your money. This isn't a deal.

It was my first time ordering from this restaurant. When I called about my order being late I received an attitude and being talked rudely to by the woman I answer the phone. When I received my order my ginger ale can was missing they gave me the money in lieu of that but the worst part was when I started to eat my dumplings there were pebbles in my dumplings. When I called and explain this I've got some kind of weird thing of disbelief I had to send photos which I did these very same photos with the white pebbles in my food. They said they never came across this before I said it's so dangerous they responsible for taking care of people's food you should take it off the menu clearly there's a problem to which they said that they are going to be more careful and continue to sell these items even though rocks were found in these items I would give this place a zero if I could from the unprofessionalism and negligence do not go here.

Dumpling Palace? Yes. A palace in the truest sense of the word. My first night in Boston, I try SEVERAL places for late night dumplings. Nothing is actually open even though they claim to be on their websites.

I stumble upon Dumpling Palace, they said they were open until 2:30am and so I ordered take out online (their website is user friendly and well designed), but after placing the order I realized I ordered Takeout instead of Delivery (because I am a 40 minute walk away!) So I called them right away. They quickly picked up, were very understanding made it feel like No Biggie at all, took down my address (it's complicated and they didn't even ask me for further directions) they said all I needed to pay in cash when the delivery arrived was a $3 delivery fee.... DEFINITELY worth it instead of walking for 80 minutes! They said the food was already done and that it would be there soon. I had big doubts that it would be there "soon" and that they would be able to find us quickly. Cut to 15 minutes later maybe less and they are calling me, waiting Right outside on a rainy Sunday night.

At this point even if the food wasn't great, I would still be really happy with the service. But the Palace doesn't stop there. The food is Piping hot, not like it's been sitting around waiting for someone to pick it up. And we open the containers, full of pan fried pork dumplings, pan fried pork buns, and pork buns (left to right), and we take a bite... And... It is SO fresh and SO tasty like it was actually made by hand just 15 minutes prior. Incredible. I cannot rate them highly enough. They claim to be a Palace of Dumplings and I cannot agree More. If this isn't your number one take out place you are wrong.

Thank you Dumpling Palace, thank you for welcoming me...

Its my go to place when I wanted fried rice. I usually order yang chow fried rice and oyster pancake.

Pros: food is good. price is average.

Cons: The younger waitress is rude and usually moody (toxic) so we prefer the other waitress. We went in once when it was winter. She "Ordered" us in Mandarin to sit at the corner by the doorway bc we were 2 people and other tables were set up for parties but there wasn't anyone there.. I told her we don't want that corner seat, ignored her and sat at our usual spot. She even told us to speak in her language. I do speak her language but I dont want to. I disregarded her.

I hate that when Chinese see another Asian person and start to scold at you in their language thinking they are slick and can have their way with you. Then they stick there nose into your business while asking bordering boundary questions that makes you extremely uncomfortable like "why wear your hair this way?".

Even if I do or don't speak their language it shouldn't matter.. I would still speak English bc some people tend to erase respect in there comfort language and get aggressive crossing the line. Then they look at you and start to know that they should respect you keep your distance with them.

[I feel sometimes you need to put people in their place to let them know how you ought to be treated. Unfortunately in Boston there are quite a few more places that erase the line that you set. So you have to go through all the way showing them the consequences when people show toxicity or a consistency of disrespect.]

#2 They open late after 3pm. But I dont think it was advertised online. So sometimes we went there and get disappointed...

Disgusting food, rude workers and overall terrible service. If I could give this place zero stars I would.

I ordered a vegetable lo mein with udon noodles on Grubhub. I get a call from the delivery guy to tell me he's here. I ask him to bring the food to the lobby of my building (which is about a 2 min walk from the street) because it's cold and I don't want to be going outside -- simple task, all the delivery drivers that have ever dropped off my food have been completely fine with this. He says if I want him to bring it to the lobby I have to tip. I already tipped so I'm very confused...and he repeats it again. Then he says forget it this time but next time I won't bring your order. What kind of service is that? I don't owe anyone a tip, especially when I've already added a tip on my order, and he was borderline yelling at me. Never have I had an experience like that with a delivery driver, it was ridiculous.

Food was terrible. Felt like I was eating food made 3 days ago that was just heated up in the microwave. For the amount that they give you anyway it's a rip off. Carrots in the lo mein were stale and they put this random bean sprout salad thing that tasted gross. Genuinely some of the worst food I've ever had. I will never ever order from here ever again.

I RARELY leave reviews but this place was so bad I...
