I visited Longchamp to purchase a Le Pliage bag and unfortunately, the experience left me disappointed. When I entered the store I was greeted by a SA at the front. A sales associate in the back where the Le Pliage bags were, I believe her name was Tamarah, was helpful and informative about the bags I was considering once I had asked her for help.
However, the checkout experience is what rubbed me the wrong way. Unlike past experiences at Longchamp locations where staff typically provide a new, wrapped bag from the back once you’ve made your choice, I was not given that.
Then, when I hesitated briefly between paying with cash or card because I was deciding if I wanted cash back or not, and I’m not sure if this was relayed from Tamarah to the SA at the register. The associate at the register seemed to assume I couldn’t afford the bag. I did not get her name unfortunately. She proceeded to rip off the tag before I even completed the transaction — something I’ve never experienced at any retail store. This was incredibly off-putting, particularly as my boyfriend was reading the return policy nearby the register to pass time. It seemed she assumed I couldn’t afford the bag when he did that. It felt like she was intentionally trying to limit my ability to return the item, even though I had no intention of doing so. I ended up buying the bag anyway but if I were to go back in time, I would have questioned why she ripped the tags off.
Overall, I felt judged based on appearance and not treated with the level of respect a client should get. I had to ask for help at every turn and left feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome and questioning why the tag...
Read moreMy wife has a liking for Longchamp bags due to simple, good quality design. So when she found out that's one store at Newsbury St, Boston, near where we were staying, she jumped at the opportunity to visit. She managed to get one Le Pilage Original Tote bag for her friend. She was attended to by a male sales person and was very satisfied with his service as he even asked whether to gift wrap the bag. My wife bought a 2nd bag for herself - a Le Pliage Energy L bag (Navy). However, for this 2nd purchase, my wife was greatly disapponted by the attitude & bad service from the female cashier staff at this Newsbury outlet. My wife requested for a second as the first piece has minor defects. It turned out that the second piece is even worse as it has fabric spurs at the handle area. So the next request was to have another new one. The female cashier surprisingly responded that it is very troublesome as she would have to go down the storeroom to get a new one. To avoid any further issue, my wife decided to go back to the first piece. After the purchase, there was not even a simple thank you from the female cashier staff! I would strongly not recommend any one going to this store if nothing is done about the service level of this staff! GREATLY...
Read moreDropped my bag off for a zipper repair. Staff were friendly and let me know that my bag repair would take 6-8 weeks and that they’d call me when it shipped back to the store. 10 weeks passed and no phone call from the store. I contacted the store via. phone and the associate who answered the phone put me on hold. When she came back to the phone she said, “I found your bag, it’s been here for quite awhile”. I let her know that at drop-off the associate informed me that I would be contacted and nobody ever did. She sort of chuckled on the phone and said “sorry”. I went to the store the next day to pick my bag up. I was greeted by 3 associates. I told them my name and they went in the back to grab my bag. The associate came out with my bag wrapped in plastic, smiled cheerfully and said “you are all set!” They even gave me a brand new shopping bag for my bag. Because of parking, I was in a rush and trusted that my bag had been repaired. I got home and opened the bag. My zipper was still broken and the Long hamp Repair Inquiry said that my bag couldn’t be fixed because of the lining peeling. My biggest complaint is the bad customer service, fake smiling and lack of communication when it comes to...
