Hotel AKA Back Bay was the perfect choice for our family of four during our two-day stay in Boston. It offered the charm and intimacy of a boutique hotel while still providing the full range of amenities we needed—an elegant lobby and lounge area, a clean and well-equipped fitness center, and an on-site restaurant and bar. It struck the ideal balance between comfort and convenience. I had read that Back Bay was one of the best areas to stay in Boston, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The location couldn’t have been better: we were able to walk safely back to the hotel after an evening Red Sox game, and it was also an easy stroll to Boston Common, the start of the Freedom Trail, and the beautiful Public Garden. With countless coffee shops and restaurants in every direction, we were spoiled for choice. The staff made our stay even more enjoyable—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. While the rooms themselves were simple in style, they were spacious, thoughtfully outfitted, and included nice touches like an espresso machine, plush robes, and very comfortable beds. We especially appreciated the option to choose a firmer pillow for a better night’s sleep. All in all, our stay at Hotel AKA Back Bay exceeded expectations. We would absolutely stay here again—and again!

This is the first time ever I'd like to leave another review just to praise and let everyone travelling to Boston know how amazing this hotel is. Ever since my first phone call to check how much of the deposit they'd take, the staff has since then showed me how much they care about all the in-coming, now-staying, and all the prior residents. This is the very first hotel I have stayed at that checks in with their residents via texts. And the responses were prompt, even during the very early morning on the 4th of July. Sure, this is a hotel on the smaller side so you can't expect a gigantic gym or something like that but Loews Boston Hotel does provide you everything you could imagine and more: from the coffee and fresh lemonade in the lobby to the earphones provided in the gym. Oh, I forgot to mention this hotel is close to almost everything you could think of yet it is still quiet enough for you to enjoy some sound sleeps. My only regret is I did not ask Ryan or Heather about which restaurant serves the best lobster roll around. Can't wait to go back and stay there longer. :D

A great looking place in a great location. Hot shower, soft towels firm but comfortable bed, great pillows, and responsive ac. Fridge in room was handy. Robes were soft and a nice touch. Coffee and hot chocolate in the lobby was good and a nice touch as well. Valet parking was expensive but painless. None of these issues we severe enough to really have enough of an effect on our stay to make them lose a star, but some of the negatives: someone's you can hear neighboring rooms a little bit, but it's not bad, usually. A light in the middle of the room in the ceiling would have been nice. And the showerhead needed maintenance. Functionally, it was fine but there was a large gap between the tile and the plate of the showerhead which was unsightly and could cause a mold problem if left unattended. Breakfast seemed exorbitant at $25 bucks a person but maybe I'm just cheap. Overall, a clean and comfortable place to stay that is close to everything in Boston.

The draw of this hotel is extremely frustrating once you get into your room. I booked the king deluxe room and realized that it’s basically the exact same as a regular room…the only difference? You get a “city view” and let me tell you, in room 846, it’s anything but a city view, just one tall building blocking your view of any kind. So if they put you here, ask for another lol!

Travel hack for this place, just book a regular room, don’t waste your time with a suite or any upgrade, they’re all the same.

Prices are far too high for this product, and I’m just concerned how this is considered a four star experience. I’ve stayed at the W hotel and it is light years ahead of the offerings of this place. Easy to order room service, amazing concierge staff, simple check in etc. Here everything feels dated, small and simply underwhelming. For the almost $650 I spent for two nights, I was expecting much more.

In addition to this, we stayed two nights, one booked through AMEX, and we decided to add another night at the hotel. We never were offered a dining credit, or any upgrade or other amenities, same room, same thing. Not sure why we weren’t given these things when they’re listed very clearly on the website for staying two or more nights.

Room service is non existent entirely. There’s like a restaurant? I think? It’s not very good, I got an over priced corona at like $8 lol and they’re deviled eggs are just gross, and $14 for three half eggs? What?!

You can’t heat up any leftovers in your room. I REPEAT, YOU CANNOT HEAT UP YOUR LEFTOVERS IN YOU ROOM…this is just embarrassing, no microwave in the room, why? Even street side motels that cost $30 a night have microwaves. And breakfast is weird too, they only serve it for like an hour, and on certain days, and only if there’s a full moon that night, and only if the tides decide to go out to sea, basically it’s really complicated, just go to the restaurants around the area, they’re amazing, just don’t bring any leftovers back cause boy they’ll be cold and sad the next night.

The bathrooms are just meh and outdated, and there’s this weird mid height shower head thing? Don’t use it, it’s weird…the towel warmer isn’t used the right way, the sink is just outdated blah blah blah you get the point.

Overall, take your money to the W, much much nicer stay, and I’m pretty sure it’s cheaper too, and it’s location is A+

Loews, give me my dining credit or something, this...

The fact that this hotel is housed in the building that was once HQs for the Boston Police is really cool. You know what wasn't ? The cool $1000 spent on a room for 2 nights. What was I thinking? Had it been a suite or had it come with even a single amenity I might not have spent the entire 2 days regretting my decision to stay at this hotel. Wait is an $8 bottle of water an anemity? No need to ponder. I just checked and it's not. We're that not bad enough, after I checked in I found out about a promotion that you can get a $60 credit per room for breakfast if you eat in their restaurant. I emailed Loews customer service and by return email from Ryan Stephens, claiming to be the front office manager, I was informed because I booked my $1000 2 night stay through "a third party" Expedia I wasn't entitled to the credit. I say claiming to be the front end manager because one would think that an actual manager would look at my record I did not book through Expedia it was hotwire Mr. Stevens. Maybe they don't get the thousand dollars when you book through hotwire or Expedia and that's why you're not entitled to the $60 I don't know but I know I was so embarrassed for Mr. Stevens I didn't even bother calling to further inquire about the $60. I am left to believe that Lowe's needs it more than I do. now before you think that my two days was a complete wash let me tell you about their restaurant downstairs. It made up for everything - the hostess was the most charming young woman who performed the duties of her job so admirably I felt better after leaving than I did before I went in and not many places can do that - the hostess and my server were awesome unfortunately for us my server told me it was her last day. Hopefully the hostess, this absolutely charming young woman will remain because she alone made up for all the ill will I felt toward the hotel's treatment of my issue - final score restaurant beyond 10 cuz the food was good too the hotel...

Hotel is in a great location and they were very friendly to our dog, but unfortunately, we experienced something that I hope nobody else has to go through. We were checking out of our hotel with our dog with our car keys nowhere to be found. We had both of our keys in a takeout bag that was next to the coffee maker the night before. When housekeeping came, they accidentally threw the bag away along with our keys. Our car is a keyless push start and the locksmith that we called had to modify our car alarm system to get in to make new keys. It cost us $650 and several hours of missed work. After contacting management, they claimed to have "investigated" and told us that it was not their responsibility. Additionally, when we checking out, we stored luggage with the hotel because we couldn't access our car and they, again, mistook one of our bags with trash. They couldn't find our last bag because it was still in the room, inside of trash bags. At this point it was 7pm... After speaking to management, they said that this is a normal occurrence and that housekeeping thought it was trash, which should not be a normal occurrence to think this twice with one guest or any at all. The trash that we had during our stay was placed by the door to indicate that it was trash. Something next to the coffee maker with things still inside was not trash. After this horrible and stressful experience, we were expecting a different response from the hotel management as the management told us to bring them the invoice, but nothing has been done as they claim they are not responsible for this. Very disappointed as Back Bay residents who were temporarily displaced from their home. If you stay here, please keep all your belongings in your bags or watch them very closely or they might end up...
