I went there today for the first time with some people and it was a fun experience, skates were easy to rent and nothing was expensive at all. The one thing I had a bit of an issue with was that one of the employees giving out skates was rude and aggressive. I think she was blonde curly haired middle aged I don’t remember. But when she told me they were out of size 8 skates, I politely asked if they had size 9 as an alternative she just said come back in a moment. I then thought it was worth (politely) asking what was the maximum size they had at the moment. It was never my intent to irritate anybody but I simply thought that because they knew from the top of their heads what sizes were available and what sizes weren’t and the fact that I was not taking as long as most customers would to stand in front of the booth, it was worth to check but the employee raised her voice, and I don’t mean just raise but she screamed at me at the top of her lungs “COME BACK IN A MOMENT!!!!!”. I felt really uncomfortable and embarrassed in that moment. Other than that I cannot complain about the...
Read moreI finally made it over this past Sunday, 3/6/23, from the West End of Boston. Had wanted to skate before in February, but they were closed for Super Bowl Sunday. Arrived @5:00pm & skated til almost closing @6:45p. First time on skates in twenty years. Didn't fall once because the ice was cleaned every 45-50 minutes. The staff were very helpful & the skate rental/concessions attendant ladies were kind (one in particular). I had a great time all by myself. The group was intergrade w/ families, teen-age, & college age peeps, LGBTQ-2 friendly, a rainbow 🌈 of ages & nationalities. Most people were considerate of other less experienced skaters, w/ a few exceptions. The ice rink monitors were 'very chill, & loved seeing the stackable milk crates jerry-rigged w/ ice hockey skate laces. My only regret is that i didn't start attending earlier in the season. And 😲, rental & snacks all for $8. w/ tip! I felt like i was back in the '90's ;) Definitely going one more time before they close to the public for the season. It took me less than an hour to get my 'skate legs'...
Read moreIt was a fun experience. The ice was nicely shaved when I went there on a tuesday from 12p-3p. It was also a decent price. You can bring your skates and get on the ice or you can pay for $5 for skate rental. Ice skating is free. Very nice price will come back here again. There may be a lot of kids from school and little kids learning how to skate. So it’s like for beginners but also have to watch out for the others. It is also accessible through the train station. Parking is hard to find if you’re lucky enough you can park right on the same street as the skating rink. The street cleaning you need to watch out for the hours. If not park somewhere close to Regina’s Pizza which is only a 5 min walk from the rink. North end of Boston, will come...
