Please use this as constructive criticism! Location is prime and cleanliness wasn’t bad — cleaner than many hostels. They don’t market themselves as a hostel out front, but they definitely are. The pod idea is interesting, but in my opinion, no hostel should cost $99 for a shared room. At the price you might as well stay at the Courtyard or a similar hotel for a bit more money and a private room. I think around $70 would be a better price if you want to charge on the higher side. The beds are very hard, the walls and pods aren’t soundproof, the room was very cold (it was March) and you’re only provided a blanket but no sheets (just the mattress cover and your blanket). Like others have said, if you have a pod with the window behind your head, the curtains don’t close all the way so some light from the city lights comes in at night. The service wasn’t great either — there was a very nice woman in the morning but when I arrived for check in the first evening there was a young woman who wasn’t very kind and explained nothing about the rooms/hotel or asked how my trip was going. I had a long day and then she told me I had to pay a deposit, but the deposit couldn’t be payed via Apple Pay (but the reservation could). I was never made welcome or informed about the amenities of the room. And when I was struggling, she could have tried to help me after a long day, but left me standing there silent as I searched for pictures of my card. Kindness goes a long way. Hire people who are social and kind and pay them accordingly. You are prohibited from bringing food into the rooms BUT they don’t have common areas anywhere except a small section of the first floor (if there are more I was never informed and they weren’t clearly visible). I’d recommend having a common area on each floor. Lots of snoring, people yelling next door, so another great thing to provide people with to go the extra mile would be earplugs - or sell them. I would’ve rated this place lower but I do want them to use this to improve. Again, location and...
