Stumbled upon (err.. "wandered" into) this place on a whim. Wanderlust.. book lounge... sounded cozy. I've been searching for that perfect nook where I could sit (err.. "lounge") hopefully next to a window (though window not required), and drink coffee while I bury myself in a book for a bit. This looked and sounded promising. Upon entering, we noticed the "lounge" portion of this "book lounge" is entirely missing. It's very small, and their efforts are apparent with the wood floors and shelving, and with the modest self-serve coffee bar with store bought cookies on one wall. But it is not at all cozy/lounge-y. The only seating was two stiff chairs facing the center of the room (which communicates "dont stay long") and a center table stacked with books and several dining chairs (so not at all comfortable, and no place to put coffee, etc as the table is covered with books). So I thought, hey, I'll just go ahead and just pick up the book I've been eyeing for a bit instead of buying on my Kindle.. so as not to have this be a wasted stop. Wellp.. the two employees had never even heard of it. Mind you, this is a #1 bestseller that has been out for a few years and that other shops have struggled to keep in stock. Trip = bust. All that aside, this place boasts "the world's incredible diversity".. but that can't be possible with such limited stock, most of which was notably for, about, or by women only. Those kinds of limits spell quite the opposite of diversity to me. Hmmm. The concept is cute, but unfortunately, that's where it ends. Annnd the...
Read moreWanderlust Book Lounge is a hidden gem for book lovers in our community. This independent bookstore has a thoughtfully curated collection of books that you won't find anywhere else. As you step inside, you're greeted with a welcoming atmosphere and cozy ambiance. The staff is knowledgeable and passionate about literature and is always happy to recommend a book or two based on your interests.
What I love most about Wanderlust Book Lounge is their commitment to supporting local authors and community causes. They showcase an impressive array of books by local creators, and it's great to see a bookstore that actively champions and uplifts the voices of underrepresented groups.
Another standout feature is their events calendar. There's always something new to discover at Wanderlust Book Lounge, from book clubs to author readings to kids' story time. It's an excellent opportunity to connect with fellow bookworms and immerse yourself in the literary scene.
Overall, I highly recommend Wanderlust Book Lounge to anyone looking for a personalized and enriching bookstore experience. Whether you're a casual reader or a die-hard book lover, you will find something that speaks to you at this...
Read moreWhat a fabulous shop! Popped in to kill time before an appointment and it was like wandering into my own private library. 🥰 In addition to some of the best stocked fiction, non-fiction, and fantasy sections I’ve seen in some time (nearly everything in the shop is on my TBR!), I was delighted to see a table for Hispanic Heritage month, a social justice section, and some damn cool banned book reading trackers (fall project is a go!). As a dedicated library nerd, I rarely buy books these days but I just had to support this place. If you’re in need of a pick me up, do yourself a favor...
