I googled "Thai food near me" and this place popped up. I clicked on THEIR WEBSITE menu and it showed me prices for $11. I called and placed an order for 3 dishes... each $11. When I went to pickup, my total was $53. This was confusing so I asked how much each dish cost and they told me $16. I showed them their website and prices stating $11 and they said its old. She told me prices hadn't been that price in years. I asked why it was still on their website and she said it's because I looked on Google. I told her I wouldn't have known to search your website name if I didn't know where I was going to eat. Google suggested the restaurant and I clicked on their website. She told me she couldn't give me the food for $11. So I asked to speak to a manager. Another lady came and told me that she wasn't the manager and then told me the same thing. This is false advertising and prices advertised on their website should be honored. Som told me that the website gets updated all the time. If thats the case, why keep old prices up? She tried calling the manager for help but they didn't answer. I tried calling the manager too and haven't heard back yet. I'm very disappointed. Be careful when placing an order for pickup. Attached photos were taken today from their website. The bottom of the page says 2023. So this is not from an old listing that had I randomly saved from 10 years ago.

Had a taste for pineapple fried rice and decided to try this place out. Ordered pickup so I can't attest to the service or even the ambiance as I didn't pick it up. I do have some judgement on the food though. The pineapple fried rice was good, though the rice could have used a tad more oil/flavor. I was disappointed in the meager amount of prawns it had considering the $6.50 upcharge. For $28, it was lacking. Ordered fried rolls with a spice level of 4 and extra Plum sauce. I received ONE tiny container of sauce with barely a tablespoon in it. The rolls had no spiciness whatsoever so I'm not even sure why they even offer the option if they're not going to honor requests. Panang Curry was probably the highlight and savor of this review. Good texture, tons of flavor, spice level on point and tofu for days. If they only had that level of consistency with the other entrees. This place also seemed to be the only Thai restaurant in the area who has been able to find ripe mangos in early September. Their mango sticky rice was delicious though I wish the mango, rice and coconut milk had been packaged separately for easier transport and reheating. By the time I was ready to eat it, everything was room temp. Overall, it was okay. Might have had a better dining in, but at least try the Panang curry.

Downtown Bothell has an old world charm and Pen Thai has a nice asian architecture interiors. After that it was downhill. For some reasons- the Thai person serving appeared a bit arrogant. Saying ‘No’ like a school teacher to any request. I ordered a veg stir. Fry( without oil) 3 star with non fried tofu. The dish was surprisingly good and vegetables did not feel like cheap prepackaged ones. The taste was good though run of the mill Thai lunch. Then it was only $10, so cannot expect miracles. We were 10 persons and they could not split the bill. Btw, the restaurant does not accept AX cards. Overall 2 stars for good food and wait staff totally bad attitude. And they add 18% gratuity bad or good service for lunch.

I have been coming to pen thai with family since 2006 and was a customer of chantanee atleast since 2011/12. My friends and I we were bummed out that chantanee was closing in Bellevue because it was like a family and I used to visit once or twice every week.

Recently, my team was planning for a Thai lunch and I was looking for some options. I was so ecstatic to see that chantanee is open in Bothell!

I drove my team from Queen Anne to Bothell and we absolutely enjoyed every item we ordered. My team thanked me for a great suggestion. On our way back, folks in my car casually mentioned about something was weird about the service and I agreed. This lady was always in a hurry (just for our table) and never came back to ask if everything was ok, we need a box etc., There were just three other tables and things weren’t crazy and it felt like we were not treated well.

Last Saturday, I come back to another waitress and she was amazing and the food was amazing.

I came back this Saturday (1/20), I met with the waitress with an attitude. At the beginning, I didn’t think anything but I know she would always be in a hurry so I ordered everything at first. After I am done with the lunch, 5 minutes go by, 10 minutes go by she never came back to my table. When she came to nearby tables couple of times, she acted like she didn’t hear me and walked away. Finally, I walked to the front and paid my bill and left a 15%tip even though I was upset. She has the audacity to ask if something was wrong with the service. I would have given her a lesson that she should’ve thought about it when walking away from nearby tables as though you didn’t hear me and never came back to ask if I want a box or order any dessert or anything.

I really wish Chantanee Thai the best but this kind of service whether it is profiling or what is unacceptable. I would have never expected this...

I met friends here and was a little late. When I walked in and was directed to the table I had to wait 20 mins before I could order a drink... in fact I went back to the kitchen to get the server's attention. Then I chose the Seafood Soup, not noticing that it actually includes ground chicken (the last item in a long list of seafood and veges) The soup took quite a long time but that was OK, chatting with friends. The broth was bland and there were 2 shrimp and 2 small pieces of calamari. A few slivers of overcooked carrot and celery and a little cubed tofu rounded out the unattractive bowl. There was no other seafood and there were little pieces of cardboard-like substances on the bottom. The waitress came back eventually and I mentioned that the soup was not what I had expected. Not much seafood. I had not discovered the cardboard yet. She said "oh well you'll know not to order it next time" NO apologies or offer to get something else. A sulky demeanor. A few minutes later as I picked at my unpalatable soup I found the cardboard and asked my companions to try to identify it. They agreed it was chicken. As I don't eat meat I went again to the kitchen to get my server. She pointed out to me that there was a mention of chicken on the menu. I asked to order something else and that I would pay for the extra meal. We waited for 30 mins and she came to box up my friends' left overs. I asked where my meal was and she denied that I had ordered it. My companions witnessed my order so there was no excuse for this abysmal and sulky service. I will not be going back. Nothing was comped and this waitress got no tip. However the mango mojito was delicious...

Chantanee Thai is a Bothell Hidden Flavor Haven!

We stepped into Chantanee Thai looking for a warm, comforting meal and left with new favorites and full hearts. If you’re someone who loves bold, authentic Thai flavors, this is your next must-visit.

Pad Thai with deep-fried tofu was a revelation. Sweet, tangy, savory in every bite unfolds a little more flavor. The tofu adds that perfect crunch, lifting the dish to something memorable and crave-worthy.

Pineapple fried rice quickly stole the spotlight. The spices, imported directly from Thailand, brought deep, earthy richness that danced beautifully with the juicy, vibrant pineapple chunks. This dish doesn’t just taste good—it tastes like a celebration.

Cashew chicken came generously loaded with crunchy cashews and well-balanced flavors that felt intentional in every bite. It’s hearty, satisfying, and exactly what a comfort dish should be.

Fresh rolls lived up to their name and were bright, crisp, and impossibly fresh. And then there was the hero of the night…

The peanut sauce. Thick, nutty, and packed with unforgettable flavor. In my humble opinion? It’s absolutely outstanding. I’d come back just to experience that sauce again, it’s that good.

Whether you’re a longtime Thai food lover or just dipping your toes into this incredible cuisine, Chanteea Thai welcomes you with warmth and flavor that speaks straight to the soul. And while you’re there, take a moment to say hi to the amazing owner and you’ll feel the heart...
