Our experience at Cronin Jewelers from July-September 2020 was nothing short of excellent! My now husband and I went in to see about having our wedding bands made, and my engagement ring setting checked and reset.

Backstory on my engagement ring: It belonged to my husband’s grandmother, and when I received it in 2018 the prongs were worn and delicate, so we took it to a jeweler on the east coast to fix the setting. We had a sketchy experience with that jeweler, who notified us of a chip in the main marquise diamond only after we had left the ring with them for repairs and resizing.

Fast forward to summer 2020 and we bring the ring to Cronin Jewelers shop in Boulder. After explaining my desire to have the engagement ring reset and a custom wedding band made, Bill kindly cleaned up and inspected the ring. Unfortunately he discovered that the tip of the marquise was not only chipped, but completely cracked through and being held in place only by the current setting. He offered to let me see the setting and stone under a microscope, so I was able to verify the damage firsthand. Bill and Carrie worked closely with us to find a solution, and in the end we decided to have the cracked marquise stone reshaped into a pear, preserving the heirloom diamond and bringing new life to the original piece. We created a custom setting and matching wedding band for me, and a simple gold band for my husband. They kept us up to date throughout the entire process, from sending the stone to the gem cutter, to inviting us in to see the wax models of my rings and the casting process.

TL;DR We are beyond thrilled with the results, and will definitely be back for any future jewelry needs. Thank you again to Bill, Carrie, and the entire Cronin Jewelers team for helping to save our diamond and bringing life to the rings I had envisioned. - Sara & Sean

My wife has a mountain band (Estes Park) and I have a Range Ring (Telluride). The following note was sent to Laurel after she worked to help with with the worst possible situation: worrying about a lost ring.

Dear Laurel -- I am really blessed to have done business with Cronin. Your generosity is unexpected, but precisely why I am so grateful to have purchased from you such important artifacts to remind us of our love.

I am also blessed since I was able to locate the ring!!! It was in a trash can after my wife and I prepared fondue for a farewell dinner as she heads to Chicago for a week and will return with the sons of our marriage.

Short story is to never put a ring on a kitchen countertop, particularly while cooking and preparing meals. And NEVER take the trash out if you have lost something. Yes, I did end up digging through the kitchen trash bag and located the ring.

So, while I won't be able to accept your generosity of preferred pricing on a new ring, I think you'll agree that this outcome is a much happier one for me and Jenn. We both cherish our mountain memories that we can carry with us daily. Your product is outstanding, and I could not think of a better talisman of the love we share yet today.

We had a fantastic experience at Cronin's. I had lost the diamond to my grandmother's antique engagement ring. I was heartbroken, and determined to replace it. I thought this would be an expensive but easy thing to do. I was wrong. The ring had had many more repairs than I realized and was thus vulnerable to being damaged during the cleaning and replacement process. Bill and Carrie carefully guided me and my husband through the process, letting us know each risk along the way. Bill brought us into the back room where we could see the ring through his high-precision instruments and understand exactly what was at stake. Although Bill was reluctant to do some of the changes I wanted, because of these risks, he listened carefully and found a way to meet my expectations. Carrie was extremely helpful in showing us a variety of diamond options and explaining the ratings for each one. The ring looks fabulous, in better shape than it's probably ever been since I inherited it.
