Pekoe — Restaurant in Boulder

5+ years I’ve been a happy customer at Pekoe. Today I asked the staff to reset the router as I wasn’t receiving WiFi. The boy at the counter curtly said “ no Pekoe is happy with the WiFi how it is, your Mac is probably broken “ I don’t know about you other customers but I go to cafes to drink coffee and surf the web. In my many years of cafe going ( inc working at some ) I have never encountered staff which don’t understand that routers sometimes need to be reset. It’s a quick flip of a switch and you then have a happy customer. As opposed to what did happen which was me getting quite irritated. I admit I got a bit angry and takes some 🤬 at which point another staff came out and told me I had to leave the store because I was using language she didn’t approve of ( BTW the cafe was empty ) I was the only person inside. I was made out to look crazy because I requested the router to be reset. All I can say is those particular staff are quite ignorant in regards to how WiFi, routers, and laptops operate. The the fact that WiFi and the ability to surf the net is part of the service provided by a cafe and how to interact with customer complaints or requests. I wasn't too impressed with this Pekoe. I've been to the other location on 30th St and felt that one was a little better. The drinks here are average and a little over priced for the quality of tea they have. I came on a Thursday afternoon around 1:30pm and this place was about 2/3 filled. The back seating area looked dirty and run down. I didn't see anyone sitting in that area. I ordered their Chai Wallah and was not really impressed. The flavor of the chai was a little light. The tapioca pearls were not great. They were soft and mushy. I would not recommend getting any type of tapioca drink. I came here hoping to work since many reviews recommended that it was a nice place, but it was loud and difficult to work in that environment. There really is no place where I can just walk and order a cappuccino with almond milk and leave with a cappuccino with almond milk. Truly, it’s always a latte and then some tension as I ask for the drink to be made with foam or with less milk. It’s actually quite an overwhelming experience to order a cappuccino with almond milk because I already know walking in It’s not going to be a cappuccino. Today I went into this beautiful coffee shop ordered an almond milk cappuccino, and I left with an almond milk, cappuccino!!! The milk, the foam the flavor, balanced, and perfect!
