Don't bother purchasing anything from Home Depot and definitely don't use their "delivery" service!!! I have had an abysmal experience with the purchase and delivery of my refrigerator which is currently sitting on my front porch where it was left during delivery. Besides the saga leading up to this, I want to start with the most immediate issue. As of ... 2021, I have a $1400 refrigerator sitting on my front porch. Arrangements were made between the online service and the Bowie Home Depot to have that refrigerator placed either inside my home or garage until the installation could be completed. This was supposed to take place today. Suffice it to say that after a 2 hour call with the online people and the resolution center, the refrigerator still sits on my front porch. I spent the rest of my evening sitting at home waiting for a return call from the manager on duty at the Bowie store (Eric). When I did not received it, I finally went to the store at 9:30 pm to see him. I want to note that the original delivery date that I chose at purchase was scheduled for ... I did not receive a call on ... to give me the window for which it would be delivered. On the day of delivery after sitting and waiting for most of the day, I checked my email receipt to get a number to contact Home Depot. At this point I saw an email stating that my delivery had been rescheduled for 23 days later because there was a supply chain issue. While I found this disruptive and dishonest (internet stated the item was in stock), I decided not to complain. As my daughter was heading to work, she informed me that people were delivering something to the house and she had to get to work. She asked them to just leave it! I had no idea that my refrigerator was coming! For me, $1400 is a lot of money. I was relying on the promised phone call alerting me of delivery. Most importantly, I was relying on it to occur on the day before the scheduled delivery! The delivery date had been changed again. This is an immediate crisis in that I have an exposed, expensive item sitting on my front porch that passersbys can easily see and target for theft. I have a 48 hour window from delivery to return the item that I cannot unwrap it to inspect for damage because it is sitting on my front porch and unwrapping it would expose it to...
Read moreI will never shop at HomeDepot again. They have very terrible customer service. Ordered a microwave in store. A different microwave was delivered. We went to return it after realizing it’s not the microwave we ordered. They called the manufacturer who told the HomeDepot employee Rochelle that because it’s been over 48 hours after delivery, their manager has to take care of it. Rochelle had so much attitude, was clueless as to what to do. Jay who was with Rochelle in the front called the manager on the phone. The manager said we had to pay a 25% restocking fee. We asked to speak to her, she refused to come and Rochelle told us we will have to wait until whenever she is done with new employees or come back the next day. We had already been waiting for almost two hours. Janice who was the store manager refused to come. Another employee who came and heard what was happening went to get a different manager- Eric who had come in about 10 minutes earlier. Eric was polite and apologetic. However prior to Eric coming, I asked for the name of the manager who Jay spoke to. Rochelle and Jay refused to give her name. We got her name- Janice from the store receipt. The manager-Janice refused to help us and instead (on the phone) said we had to pay 25% restocking fee for a wrong microwave which was not our fault. HomeDepot, please train your employees- the once we had (Rochelle and Jay) were so clueless, your so called manager-Janice don’t care about the customers. If you guys continue like this, Lowes is going to take all your customers. This was a very terrible experience and we will not be shopping with you...
Read moreI purchased and paid for the service, including installation, removal of the old dishwasher, and a 3-year warranty package from Home Depot on May 17, 2025. I was scheduled for delivery and installation on May 23. However, on May 23, the delivery team arrived with damaged goods that couldn't be installed. I had to contact Home Depot again to reschedule, and the earliest available date was June 3, 2025, which I accepted.
On June 3, 2025, the delivery didn't happen because the product was out of stock, and Home Depot didn't notify me. I had to contact them again to reschedule, and the new delivery date was June 6, 2025. When the delivery team arrived, they claimed that my home's plumbing system was too old and needed to be upgraded before Home Depot could install the dishwasher. This is absurd, given that my house was built in 2021.
I'm extremely disappointed in the way Home Depot handled this situation, especially considering their reputation as a large and established company with a market value of nearly $200 billion. I hope Home Depot reads this feedback and takes necessary actions.
Key points:
Initial delivery issue: Damaged goods on May 23, 2025. Rescheduling: New delivery dates were June 3, 2025, and then June 6, 2025. Final issue: Claim that the plumbing system is too old, despite the house being built in 2021. Customer dissatisfaction: Poor handling of the situation and unmet...
