I just got engaged recently with a beautiful ring from the 1940s. I noticed my ring would catch on strings from the sweater or my comforter so I figured the prongs needed tightening. I brought it into goldsmith and the staff were very friendly.
I told them about my ring and a few other things I had noticed like the band being slightly bent. The kind lady at the front desk pointed out some dents and scratches as well. When she took it to the inspector he said âthis ring is not safe to wear!â Come to find out I needed four more prongs because the ring was supposed to have eight. They told me it needed a full refurbish on Tuesday and that it wouldnât be ready until Monday but it was done by early Friday!
When I went to pick it up they had fixed the dents the prongs and gave it a good cleaning! They told me to come back and theyâll check my prongs and clean my ring for free! So Iâll definitely be back! The price was...
Read moreYou'd be hard pressed to find a nicer staff than the great people who work here at Goldsmith, Jewelry, Repair and Design in Bowling Green Kentucky. One of my favorite dress watches needed a battery. I only own two watches that use batteries. This Raymond Weil is an ultra-thin variant and the original battery lasted almost 5 years. I've been to 3 different jewelers and one watch shop, and they all failed to find the pathway to success in opening the battery back up. A couple recommended that I send it back to the factory and have them work on it. Chris, here at Goldsmith's initially failed and handed it off to 'the guy'. The guy got it in a few minutes. Just under $13 for a new battery, a one year warranty, polished and date/time reset. Great folks. Glad...

So I paid over $900, it took about a month to be finished and the rings did look good at the moment that I got it. Before leaving the store, I put the wedding band in the bag that they gave me to keep it safe, and I have not taken it out since. I went back home to California to my familyâs jeweler, had him look at the rings to finish getting a shank on a band, and as soon as he pulled it out of the bag, two diamonds fell out of the ring. The prawns that he supposedly âfixedâ on the engagement ring, was already cracked and broken. I havenât even had them back for two months. Now I had to pay another $900 to make...
