The malls in general were already under problem and COVID pandemic shattered the brick and mortar retail sector as people moved much of their shopping online. But not all malls are dead quite yet like Greenwood mall.
People have re-entered the world now and enjoying in-person, outdoor shopping experience in the Greenwood mall. The mall is serving the community by creating the family-friendly areas like play area for the kids and carousel and some cool battery operated rides which is actually attracting and drawing in the “customers” who have in fact come to entertain their children.
I don’t live in Bowling Green but I regularly come with my grandkids here in this mall at least twice in the month and they love spending their time and play with other kids.
I think the dying malls can be saved by children’s play areas and more family space. I love to watch the kids playing on the padded carpet and cute little slide. When it’s too cool or wet outside, the mall is lifesaver. This helps the kids to burn off some energy and parents or grandparents can have little bit of respite.
Nice little food court is another attraction and smells good when the kids are playing around. It looks like two stores in the food court are closed and hopefully some new food variety comes in near future.
The other stores in the mall are relatively small and have limited options to some extent, but that’s understandable because big operations may be too expensive for them. Overall the mall is clean and very...
Read moreThey have made a lot of changes inside the mall and are always adding new things. I would suggest the one that makes the decision on whether a business can set up in the middle with a booth to do more verification on the business itself. Check warranty and product information. I purchased a hair straightener at Christmas and when I went by the booth to exchange the product because a plate broke, the woman Jul, tried to get me to pay more money. I paid a lot for it and she assured me with the lifetime warranty it came with, which I registered my product as instructed, there would be no problems if anything were to happen. I even went by to verify a few days before I actually tried to exchange it and was told that I could with no problems. This wasn't the case when I showed up with the broken one. I don't care if the one they have now is newer or better, I just want the one I purchased already to be what I was told it would be. The warranty doesn't say anything about paying for anything either. My grandfather just passed and since this special straightener also dried wet hair without damage and could curl as well I already threw away my old things. I had nothing to use to get ready for the funeral because their promises and assurances were empty,...
Read moreHad thee worst experience. My phone cord messed up in the car on the way there. So I had to purchase one in the mall. Not a biggie, not the issue. The issue was with this rent a cop who told me I couldn't use a wall outlet to charge my phone. I was having a family emergency situation and my phone completelydied... He told me to use a charging station, which there was none. The only thing available was a massage chair you pay $10 to use for 30 minutes of charge and *massage. I think it's ridiculous to make people use something that costs money to charge a phone. My daughter and I walked for about 30 minutes to find a wall outlet that was near the front entrance with nothing around it. No businesses, no shops, nothing. It was completely out of the way. This man walked passed me 3 times before approaching me. If it was an issue it should've been told to me BEFORE I sat there for 30 minutes trying to get the cheap charging cable I purchased to actually start charging. It was not a great shopping experience. Then while my daughter and friend were in J C Penny, they were being followed by a worker who just had to "fold the same sweater 4 times". It's bad enough to be looked down on needing to charge your phone but it's worse to be made to feel like...
