Super frustrated with this store. I went there last week to buy a birthday present for my boyfriend. I saw a cute green shirt hanging on a size Large hanger. He is a Large. I knew he would like the color and thought he might like the shirt. So, I bought it. I didn’t realize until I got home that it was actually a size Small. It was mis-hung by someone at the store. But, no biggie, mistakes happen. So, I put it right back in the Bob’s bag with the receipt so I could go and return it. I finally drove into town today to return it and was told by the cashier that since it was a clearance item, I can’t return it. At no point during the sale was I told that 1) it was a clearance item or that 2) it is a non-returnable item. The darn “clearance” shirt was $52.99!!!!! Why so expensive for a “clearance” “non-returnable” shirt?!!! I never would have purchased it if it was a non-returnable item, because this was a gift. With gifts, you never know if someone is going to like it or need to exchange for a different size! I don’t have expendable money as it is so this is super frustrating to be out this much money just for this to end up in a freaking landfill! I don’t know any man in my personal life who is a size small so this is going to end up in the trash and that’s a damn shame (for my finances and for the environment). I’m not going to go to Bob’s ever again and I’m so disappointed because I’d rather support a local store. There’s a reason people shop and Costco and Target so I’ll stick to those joints from now on.
Update to my review: Within an hour of posting my review, the store manager, Jesse, read it, found my cell phone number in their system, and called me to offer me a full refund on the "non-returnable" shirt. I drove back to the store and got a refund back to my card. Thank you, Jesse.
There is still a lot of room for improvement in both operations and customer service at Bob's.
All employees should fully understand and be able to explain policies/procedures and be empowered by management to offer appropriate solutions to customers, with customer service being the primary focus. It should never have come down to Jesse calling me. The cashier should have been able to point to some kind of PROOF on the item or the receipt that this was final sale, offer an exchange, offer store credit, offer to get Jesse..... offer ANYTHING other than an "oh well" attitude. (Look, I was once a young college student who lacked enthusiam at a part time job before so I get it. But, you could try just a little, huh?)
If you are going to consider an item "Final sale and non-returnable", I would highly encourage that the store:
Had even ONE of the aforementioned suggestions have been in place at Bob Wards, this issue would have completely been avoided.
Overall, I don't have trust in Bob's as a retailer so I will choose to shop elsewhere going...
Read moreI went in to buy some things after I had just gotten paid so my card didn’t work at first, I went out in the parking lot and called the bank who then said it should work but that the lady at the counter had charged me for 9 dollars and something, I ask the lady at the counter if she could revert that but she was having a very poor attitude and said it would go to the total of my order, after that we ran my card twice with her and she ran my card for another 8 dollars and it didn’t work so a manager came over, the manager got it to work and I figured everything was fine until I looked at my bank, they had not used that 9 dollars toward my order instead charged me me for something I didn’t buy. I called the store when I got home and and asked to be directed to a manager, when the “manager” picked up it was just some cashier or something and I told her what had happened and she said a manager should be calling me soon after she took all my information. I am still waiting for a refund or a manager to call me. I’m very frustrated with how things went and will never buy from this store again. Very...
Read moreI went into Bob Wards today and had what I would call a 'Typical Bob Wards' experience.. Walked in, wandered around for close to a half hour, walked by a minimum of 4 employees that were on-the-floor (Not Cashiers) and not a single one of them greeted me, asked if I needed help or in any way acknowledged I existed.. Every time I go into this place it seems like they have new employees, that seemingly have even less knowledge about there products than the previous ones... The store itself is ALWAYS a disaster when I go here, and its been this way for years, absolutely no organization on the shelves which makes it very difficult to find what you are looking for, and again the employees wont help you find it either.. They do have a wide variety of products and have great prices especially during a sale event, however there customer service is no where to be found.. With so many alternative sporting goods stores within 5 minutes from this place, I would never recommend someone shopping here.. You will be much happier shopping at REI or...
