Normally I would put 5 stars because I absolutely love Hobby Lobby. It is probably my most favorite store I've ever been to. It has everything I need for decorating, hobbies, holidays, everything. There are always sales on something in the store. If it isn't on sale one week, it'll probably be on sale the next. Well tonight I went in, found exactly what I needed (and a little bit more.) There were 2 things I had picked up because it had a 50% off sign on that shelf. When I got to the register, the young girl Lakin (sp?) let me know it was not on sale. I said Well there is a sign on that shelf etc. She let me know their sale was for dining stuff. Well it says Home Sale in big letters and there was nothing for dining where these items were. I asked her if she would scan it to make sure because the sign was on it. She never asked anyone to check for the sign. Instead, she argued. I asked again if she would just scan it and check. She let me know that I could go to the website and it would show me how much it was. I asked her if she scanned it would she be able to take it back off. She said yes. I asked yet again if she would just scan it and make sure. Then she shoved the sales paper in front of me immediately putting her finger where it said something about dining and read it off. The first thing was Home Sale in big letters and she read that part off as well. I said well this is Home and it had a sign on it. She still argued with me. At that time, already frustrated because I was asking her to do something that took 2 seconds and all she did was argue with me. I said ya know it would take less time to just scan it and make sure than to stand there arguing. She scanned it. It came up full price. And I had her take it off. Yes I think they should've honored the sale on the sign because the sign was put there. It wasn't my fault. But mostly it was just bad customer service. Why spend all that time being hateful and arguing? I get it was the end of the night and she was probably tired from not being as busy but it was uncalled for. I work in customer service in the tourist industry and if I had talked to a customer and treated them like that, I would be fired. The bosses just don't tolerate it and shouldn't. I don't want her fired. I just think maybe she needs some customer service training so she can learn what she's able to do and what she shouldn't ever do.
