There are many reasons to visit Branson, Missouri. The live shows, the theme parks, the natural beauty. But there's one reason that stands out above all others: cheese curds. Yes, you heard me right. Cheese curds. Those glorious little balls of fried cheese that make you feel like you're in heaven. And the best place to get them is Culver's.
Culver's is a family-owned chain that started in Wisconsin and spread across the Midwest. They serve fresh and fast food that's made to order. You can get burgers, sandwiches, salads, soups, and more. But let's be honest, you're not here for that. You're here for the cheese curds.
The cheese curds at Culver's are made with real Wisconsin cheddar cheese, which is cut into bite-sized pieces and coated in a light and crispy batter. They're then deep-fried until golden and gooey, and served hot and fresh. You can dip them in ketchup, ranch, or honey mustard, or just pop them in your mouth as they are. Either way, you'll be in for a treat.
The cheese curds at Culver's are not for the faint of heart. They're rich, indulgent, and sinful. They're not something you eat every day, or even every week. They're something you eat when you want to celebrate life, or forget about your troubles, or just treat yourself to something delicious. They're something you eat like I would have: with passion, curiosity, and gratitude.
So, if you ever find yourself in Branson, Missouri, do yourself a favor and visit Culver's. Try their cheese curds and experience a taste of Wisconsin in the heart of the Ozarks. Trust me, I know my...
Read moreWhen we saw Culver's as we were driving into town, I was so excited! I haven't had it for years and was excited to share it with my fiance and his daughter, as well as my kids!
We were able to place our order without any wait. The boy who took our orders was very pleasant. When I went to get Pepsi, though, the taste was off in one of the spigots so I told an employee. She said that they ran off of the same line but that it happened before and appeared to be trying to figure it out.
Our food took longer to come out than we expected considering the restaurant was not very busy. The employee who brought the food out looked totally miserable. She shuffled out to people's tables, put down their food, grabbed their numbers, then shuffled back.
I was excited to enjoy some great-tasting food, but the food was all blah. None of us liked our food (and there were 5 of us). The only thing we all agreed was good was my future stepdaughter's vanilla milkshake, but then again that's pretty hard to mess up. My kids both ordered the Concrete Mixers and weren't thrilled with them. I wasn't, either.
I'm not sure if it was just a fluke that everything tasted so-so, if this Culver's just doesn't live up to the name, or if they have really gone downhill since I last enjoyed them (about 4-5 years ago), but we won't be visiting again on our next trip.
My advice is skip it and try...

Additional Comment:
My wife and I stopped into to Culver's for our first time tonight Friday 5/11/18 around 9pm. We placed an order through the drive through...we were brought the wrong order twice. That is not why I am writing this...we all make mistakes. The young lady that brought our fixed order was maybe 18, she was so sweet and pleasant, she was so apologetic (not necessary), and asked us to please come back again...they gave my wife a large Pepsi and me a large Sweet Tea and a coupon to enjoy a concrete mixer for having to wait to fix our order. Now, in this day and age and all the hatefullness that goes on...that little acknowledgement and true hospitality from the sweet young lady that brought our food was really a refreshing change! You can count on us spending our money there again! Not to mention the burger's and onion rings reminded me of how things used to be and how great they were again tonight! Thank y'all for your hospitality! Give that young lady an ata girl and a raise! -The...
