This wasn't the first visit to this location, but it will be my last. This store is very overcrowded with various kinds of merchandise. It makes it difficult to maneuver around when there's more than 2 customers in the shop. And I wouldn't dare to bring a stroller inside, nor would I try to go in on a mobility scooter. Definitely not!!! Also, the lady that was my cashier was not very friendly to me, yet 1 minute before I got to the counter, she was laughing and talking loudly to a man who had just walked in. She obviously knew him, so no big deal. They were talking about him getting an anniversary card for his wife because tomorrow is theirs. When I got to the counter to purchase my own anniversary card for mine, which is also tomorrow, I made a comment about someone else having a Halloween anniversary, she never looked at me and only said "is that it?" Like I wasn't spending enough, and then replied to my comment, "hmm, looks like it". I think she may have looked at me when she gave me my change, maybe? I gave her my number for my rewards, and she said "yeah, that's it" didn't check my name, nor say my name, yet the other cashier did exactly that when she was helping another customer. As have all other cashiers I've dealt with in several Hallmark shops. The way she acted, I might have thought it was just a bad day for her, but she was literally laughing and chatting with customers and the other cashier the whole time I was in the store. It was just with me that she was like that. I didn't even get a gold crown sticker for the card I purchased. That's kind of the signature for a Hallmark store when you purchase cards. Or at least it used to be. It's been a couple of months since I was in a Hallmark store. I now live quite a ways from a Hallmark store, and even if this store is the closest, I will not be back here. If you can't treat all customers with the same respect, then you don't need to work with the public. Especially when the customer is being polite and friendly. I mean I get it if they're being ill-tempered and/or rude! I'm giving 2 stars only because they do have a fair selection of cards to choose from, and I generally like to walk around and look at gifts and things in a...
Read moreUnbelievably bad customer service. I walked into the store with the intention of picking up a couple of greeting cards. I received no welcome, rather a question from the woman working there - "Do you know we close in 5 minutes?" I looked at my phone. It was 4:50. I said "Oh I'm sorry, I just came in to look for a couple of cards. Should I leave?" "No", she said. So, I went ahead and started looking at cards. I already felt rushed at this point. This was my first time in this store, I did not know before entering that they were about to close. I picked out one as quickly as I could, and then headed to the Father's Day card section to search for one for my Dad. It was about 4 or 5 minutes til 5pm at this point. The woman working there then walked from the register toward the back of the store. As she passed behind me, she stated "You can keep looking I am just going to shut off the lights." Seconds later, the store went dark. With no light in the store, and no sunlight coming through the windows on this stormy day, I could barely see the cards in front of me. Because of this, I gave up on choosing a Father's Day card and went to the register. I paid for what I had in my hand, and she followed me out so she could unlock the front door that she had already locked. I was kind of stunned by all of this - this is just not how you treat customers. I wouldn't be taking the time to write this if I wasn't sincerely disappointed. This woman (whoever closed the store on Sunday, May 31st 2015) has a lot to learn about customer service. I recommend finding a different...
