The Refind Room — Local services in Brentwood

I called this business looking for a sofa sleeper. The owner informed me that they had a Blu Dot sofa sleeper in stock and that it was $1,200.00. I asked if it was a traditional or modern style sofa, and the owner said she did not know because she had never pulled it out. I informed her that I would come by to check it out. I arrived within the hour. She was helping another customer when I arrived and I kindly waited. When she asked if she could help me, I informed her that I was the one who had called about the sleeper sofa, to which the owner said, "Oh, here it is." I walked over to begin examining it and in less than a minute, I turned around to ask a question and she had disappeared. I waited, and discovered that the owner is now talking to the previous customer. When the owner noticed me standing there, she asks if I have any questions. I state that I'd like to pull the sofa out to see the sleeper. She states, "Oh, I can't do that." Well, how am I to examine if if I can't pull it out? She goes into a mantra of, "This furniture would have to be moved, there's not enough room to even let it out. No one has asked in five years to see it..." I ask why she had not let me know over the phone that I would not be able to see it. She just kept repeating the same excuses that didn't make sense and saying that she was sorry....For what it's worth, I have never written a negative online review. But this bizarre experience...

We moved recently and everyone at The Refind Room was so amazing!! We have completely changed styles and had a lot of furniture and accessories to sell. They came to our house and went over everything they wanted to consign for us. Our movers brought a lot to the store. We had to put some things in storage, and after the move we met at my storage and they took more items to the store. We needed to keep some items with us at the new house until they were replaced. Today they came to my new house and picked up everything else. They have the items priced fairly and it always stays 50/50 for how much we get when they sell. They don’t change the percentage secretly like some other consignment stores. Sean and the whole team are top notch! They know furniture brands, and what they are worth!! Thanks to everyone at the shop for all you have done for us.

Unfortunately the lady working on Wednesday evening was not kind- she was unfriendly & came off as superficial.

She basically walked right through me when I guess I was standing in her way, no excuse me or anything .. I was really taken back. She was walking with some guy in a blazer going to show him something on the floor, I’m assuming.

Then a short bit later, after she acknowledged us … my husband tried to lighten up the mood- cracking a joke with her about “finding things that we’ve lost there” (refind room) when she finally asked if she could help us with anything … she then made a face behind his back. I was not impressed and of course took offense again to her unprofessionalism.

It was a bizarre visit honestly. We were ready to spend thousands on 4 rooms worth and her energy completely killed the vibe. We won’t be returning.

Treat people better and be kind. You are no better than others and truly shouldn’t judge books by their cover.
