I had been introduced to "The Archive" at two Punk Rock Flea Markets in New Haven and Waterbury, CT. After purchasing several DVDs at their booth, I added the brick and mortar store to my local bucket list. The location in Bridgeport was very easy to find and ironically not in a frightening area. Upon opening the door, my jaw dropped. "Happy Halloween!" The store was atmospheric, dark, full of frightening yet humorous decor and a never-ending, excellent selection of DVDs. The selection included obscure and popular Horror movies as well as many from other genres. Another section had clothing, books and posters, making my visit complete. Kudos to the informative and very friendly staff members! If you are a DVD (yay) collector, run don't walk to "The Archive!"

Just a Fantastic store. Give yourself some time to look through this awesome store. Plenty of great collectibles, vintage and new, from VHS, DVDs, Blu Ray's, vinyl records, horror posters (new and vintage), apparel, books, collectible toys, horror magazines, soundtracks, etc. Great staff, very friendly and knowledgeable. There is on street parking, just check out the signage. I highly recommend stopping here. I always stop here when I'm in town.

Fun way to spend an afternoon! A must for horror movie fans and otherwise. Prices are reasonable- not dirt cheap but better priced than you’ll find online, for the most part. I got some good deals on used Stephen king books. They have a lot of items that are limited / exclusive/ hard to find elsewhere. I can’t wait to come back without my annoying kids so I can browse properly and in peace!

My trip to The Archive in Bridgeport was amazing. I drove three hours to get there, and it was worth it. There are places to buy blu-rays near me, but they don't carry the really good stuff, the underground films, the exploitation/grindhouse stuff, etc. There are a few who do, but they're staffed by kids who aren't at all invested in the product they carry.

At The Archive, you'll find all of that. All the best B-movies, low/no-budgets, cult films, etc. from all the best labels. You won't find any MCU blu-rays here. And the staff understand the genre, and are more than willing to get into it with you. The recommendations I got (and bought) were knowledgeable and insightful. It's nice for a change to walk into a store run by people who are far bigger film nerds than I, and I mean that will all the love and respect. I will be back, for...

Good secret indie horror store in Bridgeport and the only worthy movie store in all of CT. Brandon is mad cool as are several other employees. Brandon is one of the founders of the company and he is super knowledgeable in film and super nice. However there are some rude people who work there. I'm mainly talking about a kid with short black hair and sometimes has a mustache. He scolded at me for bringing too many movies to the counter but not buying them all because now he has to "put them back" ummm first of all isn't that ur job? Second of all I brought like 8 movies up and bought 5 of them... The people that go there should be treated with respect since this is a niche type place. We r all cut from the same thread. Good selection, needs more new...
