A good Puerto Rican restaurant. We stopped in for lunch, we decided to dine outside, inside was just way too hot. We started off with an appetizer, morcilla. They were good, the serving was very large. We actually ended up sharing the dish with a group next to us. My girlfriend had the mofongo and I had the chuleta Kan kan. Both entrees were very good. The mofongo had pieces of tocino and plenty of garlic. The chuleta Kan Kan was cooked perfectly. The chicharrón was very crispy and tasty. The chop was cooked very well. My entree was served with tostones. We enjoyed our meal.

We loved our PRican meal after spending the afternoon shopping at Monger’s. My Besties and I enjoyed the camarones al ajillo, carne frita and the bistec. La Bodega’s tostones are to die for. And, it’s always a treat to have an India Cola Champagne to top off the delicious entree. There was a bit of a wait to receive the entrees but it was well worth it. Tasty good things come to those who wait patiently. Can’t wait to take the Hubby there!

As a Puerto Rican who came from the island this place was right on the spot, just like home. The skirt steak, the mofongo best one I’ve had in New England so far, everything very delicious and the staff very friendly and nice. If I ever crave Puerto Rican food this is gonna be my place. Comida boricua muy delicioso como la de la isla lo recomiendo.

Coming from a long drive back to CT we decided to get some traditional Puerto Rican food. Place has cool Puerto Rican decor and beautiful pilones. The area is really sketchy ( but hey it's in a particular area of Bridgeport so we understood).

We go in no one to be found and I mean no one. My husband had to walk around the place towards the back looking for staff. Finally found one waitress, who was also bussing tables, and cashing people out.

We decided to sit inside because the only table left outside had wonky chairs.

Waited for the waitress to come back in to take our drink orders and give us menus. We are now about 20 minutes in. Girl comes over takes or drink orders and food order. My brother ordered wings for the table. We had to scream over the music ( we love music but it definitely was too loud for daytime eating. 20 minutes later, still no drinks. We almost left but tried to be patient. A couple walked in, sat down got tired of waiting and got up and left. 35 minutes in we get a complimentary platter of plantain chips/mayoketchup/and ajo. Another 8-10 minutes for the drinks. Two ginger ales(cans), one pina colada and a strawberry slushy drink with water on the side.

The wings come out and hour from ordering. They were very good. 20-25 minutes later the food came out. Two orders of Carne Frita with tostones ( I wanted maduros instead of tostones but the girl said I would have to buy them separately as the side choices were tostones, mofongo, or fries no wiggle room to swap out plantain choice). My brother wanted chuleta can can but she said they were all out. My hubby and sis in-law ordered two churrascos ( my husband ordered it medium came out well done) it was soft so he didn't complain. He got tostones, my SIL got Mofongo. Lastly one order of maduros. The food was well presented and a good portion. They do only give about 6 big tostones. Mofongo is a nice side served in a pilon. SIL ordered another pina colada and hubby too. These didn't come out until everyone was almost done with their food. Another party had come in and didn't stay and then another party arrived, and the girls back up as well.

However the service was still kind of slow. The food was very good and the girl was sweet but the extended wait time is not a good thing. Almost 3 hours for lunch!! Not good at all.

It makes no sense to only have one person working. Lack of proper Service kills restaurants. While this place has good food they won't last if they don't fix the service issues. The place isn't cheap. 182.00 for 4 meals no alcoholic drinks PC's were virgin.

I want to try other things on the menu but am hesitant because that service is not good. Through no fault of the waitress as she...

As someome that has worked in the restaurant business for many years I honestly have to say this was the most horrible experience/service ever! I had called in before entering the restaurant not once was it mentioned only middle tables would be allowed to sit at indoors, once I entered my family & I were told only middle tables are allowed to be seated I told the waiter we had drove very far to this location and not once was it mentioned over the phone. The server quickly got bothered by the comment & didn't even bother to sit us down to an available table we had to guess instead, once seated we were not greated until 6 minutes later, it took 6minutes to be greated 14 minutes to get our drinks, 21 minutes for a salad which by the way adding oil and vinegar with garlic and no seasoning is NOT considered a salad dressing, 38 minutes later we only received one plate, and then 11 minutes later we had received the other four plates. On top of all this the onions were not cooked all the way, the portions were so little while the plates were much bigger so the food was sliding around and on top of that the food was served on disposal plates. Once we received the food my family and I had to rush to leave because the space was crowded and it was going against the 6 feet guidelines which were not being enforced. Finally, if the waiters do not know what's on the menu in regards to the food items and prices and have to be constantly waisting time going to the kitchen distracting the cooks which causes them to stop cooking to think then they shouldn't be waiter's. Never will I ever return or recommend this...

Ive gone here multiple times and never had an experience like this last time. Not sure if under new management but the service was not great. We arrived at 740pm and didn’t get our food until 10pm. Not even our kids food that was only chicken tenders with fries. We sat down and we werent given menus or utensils. We literally waited 1 hour for our drinks only! We kept being told 20 more minutes and 3 hours later we got our food. There was only one lady who kept apologizing and harassing the back for our food. At the time to pay for our food, they said they couldn't give us our receipt because they ran out of paper. We asked for change to ensure the lady who was very attentive got the tip and they said they didnt have change. We asked to speak to the owner “Edwin” and she went to get him. In the mean time a lady by the name of Myra who claimed she was also the owner was rude and stated everyone had a rough time because of an event. Which I totally understand how busy a restaurant can be during an event however, we are paying just like everyone and should receive just as much as a good service. Close the restaurant to the public if you can’t handle a high volume of customers. Later, we were told Edwin couldnt attend to us because he was busy at the event outside. Edwin if you see this, please do better with the customer service because the food is...
