Just went in to do a 45 second transaction , buy a Nintendo switch and few games for my daughter . Had a customer in there trading in stuff . Thatâs cool and thatâs what the store is for I totally get it but he said to the lady I need 10 minutes to plug in the hand held systems so they can turn on and be checked . At that point his que to address me since I made it clear what I was looking for . This would have took 45 seconds and he would have been in the process of multi tasking customers bringing in profit to the store as he gave cash to another customer . Still I said nothing and continues to wait . Now Iâm 30 minutes in at this point . Another customer walks in and he tells first customer he need 5 minutes to open safe to get cash . Second opportunity to handle my needs and get me out in 45 seconds . Instead he starts with the second customer that walks in . He then goes to the safe to get the money for first customer and I wait cause I think I was seeing things when he started with the second customer that walked in 40 minutes after me at this point . He comes back gives customer 1 her money and proceeds to take care of customer 3 since Iâm customer 2 . At this point I walked out and over to target and spent over $500 on my daughter . Edit: I wanted to add the details here of what occurred. I emailed GameStopâs customer service line and I havenât received any answers. From posts online, it doesnât seem that the company will respond to me.
As I was purchasing a Nintendo Switch 2 controller, an employee Joseph (662762) accused me of being an eBay seller and that he âdoes not want to see my faceâ. These statements occurred after declining the GameStop credit card and protection plan for the controllers. I understand he was trying to upsell, he explained about the concerns about the battery prematurely dying since they are stored in a cold warehouse, but I politely declined.
In addition to these comments, the conversation changed to who the item was for after declining the protection plan. I do not like to disclose my personal information so I instead said an answer of my friend. He proceeded to berate me asking why I would buy an expensive controller for a friend without a protection plan.
