I actually attended a book review with my friend and it turns out that the woman who was reviewing her book happened to be a woman I actually canvas last year for the DNC. She was smartly dressed as a suffragette period dress in hope to vote white dress with her sliced yellow slash. She brought the block of history alive that day by allowing us to know that there was a lot of shenanigans by the men to overcome the women's right to vote, women in New Jersey voted until the men sneakily took it away. We had a lovely evening of Colonial Age dancing. Most people came in period attire, many having attended the battle reenactment the day and night before. I was a mundane, in modern dress, but felt very welcomed, so don't let your lack of costume dissuade you.
