Ashley Store — Local services in Bristol

I would NOT recommend buying any furniture from Ashley Furniture. My daughter bought a bed back in February and then about 2 weeks later, we went and picked out a living room set. They told my daughter her bed would be in my first of April and then my couch would be in not long after that. We called about the first of April and they said that both the bed and couch would be in the week of April 15th. I called a donation place to come get my couch so they could bring my couch in. Well.... week of the 15th comes and goes and I call to see when it would be in and they said the bed wouldn’t be in until first of May. First week of May rolls around and still nothing... called again and they said that the bed was at the warehouse but was waiting until the couch came in to call to schedule delivery. Asked when the couch would be in and they said LAST OF JUNE OR FIRST OF JULY.... Keep in mind we haven’t had any furniture since almost the middle of April... we’d been sitting in lawn chairs. I told them that I did not want the couch that I would get it somewhere else and the girl proceeded to tell me “if you don’t purchase the couch, I don’t get paid...” Well lady, if I don’t have any furniture and have to wait that long, why would I get it from you. They then said they couldn’t deliver it until the last of May.. needless to say, we went ourselves to get it. They charged us more for sales tax because we went to Tennessee to pick it up although I purchased it in Virginia... when I called them to cancel the other furniture, they said we were contacted... heck no we were not.. I called and asked. Rude, unprofessional, AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE.. I went somewhere else to get my couch and the delivered it the next week. Just go somewhere else to get...

My husband and I went into the Ashley Store at the Bristol Va location this evening looking for a couch for our den. My first impression of the store was it was orderly, clean, and we were greeted immediately. William was the person who helped us out. He was very friendly and answered all of our questions. He was not pushy by no means which is nice when you're trying to make a decision. He took time to talk to my children instead of viewing them as a liability. Alot of people see children and automatically treat you differently. Also, while deciding what furniture we were going to order he took us to something similar and showed us the kind of material that the couch had since we were looking at it on the website not in person. Overall, it was a great experience. Hassle free and he was very truthful with his awsners. Due to the time we're living in and the unfortunate part of covid he did explain that it would be 6-8 week minimum wait time. Little did he know we had an experience with another furniture store where we ordered furniture months ago and when I recently called about our order the salesman told me it would be another few months because it was out of stock when he told us it was in stock when we made our initial purchase. He was simply trying to make a sale and wasn't truthful with us. We don't mind waiting but at least be truthful. So a huge thank you to William for being 100% transparent with us and for just having good character. I would recommend this store to anyone looking...

After looking at several other stores for a mattress and living room suit, my mother and I ended up at Ashley Furniture in Bristol, Va.. We were greeted by the friendliest man Steven Wee who ask how he could help us find anything in the store. He guided us back to the section of the store with mattresses and suggested my mom get on their new machine to help suggest the type of mattress she needed. That was very helpful and confirmed what type of mattress she needed to focus on. Steven pointed out a few mattresses and left us to lay on each of them to make sure we were confident in our selection. He also went out of his way to call all the other local Ashley stores in regards to a specific mattress to check availability. Steven was not only extremely helpful but very knowledgeable about each brand and what they had to offer and what was important qualities from each. Steven also made the entire experience wonderful because he kept the conversation so light and easy and had an awesome sense of humor. We never felt the awkward pressure you sometimes get from other salesmen. Honestly, we loved the mattress but we had already been other places to try out the exact same ones, Steven was the whole reason we decided to make our purchases at Ashley. Highly recommend this store and highly recommend asking for Steven Wee...
