Our Stomachs were eating itself so my Grandma and I decided to stop here for A buffet meal. Can’t go wrong with that when you’re breastfeeding and starving! We had a little bit of trouble finding the parking lot as it looped us around and brought us through a Walmart. We pulled in, walked inside and waited in line. (Only a family of 5 ahead of us so it wasn’t TOO busy) the lady at the register kind of didn’t know what she was doing, she kept having the manager come in and punch in some numbers for her. My grandma reminded her of the senior discount, and soon enough we had gotten our ticket and we were on our way, we picked a seat that didn’t appear to be too busy. When we sat down this nice server named Mike told us that if we needed anything to just let him know and that he would be working over towards us majority of the night my grandma was getting her food, I sat back feeding the baby. And I got the chance to sit and talk to Mike a little bit. He informed me that he was working two jobs, and he really enjoys working here. He’s a really great asset to the team, and I hope whoever is reading this gives him a raise or promotion Because he works really hard, and he honestly deserves it. He was so attentive to our table whenever my grandma asked for a drink, he immediately fixated on that task. Another outstanding deed that Mike did was when we were ordering a steak, we wanted it cooked medium rare, but the cook behind the counter just gave us the next steak in line, and it was cooked very well done and cold, and my grandmother wasn’t too happy with that. So she informed Mike, and Mike went back to the cook, and had them cook us a hot, fresh, juicy, medium rare steak… Perfect to our liking! He had a great sense of humor and took great pride in his work to satisfy his customers we haven’t had this great of a service from Golden Corral EVER!!
The Bathrooms Were clean. And the general manager was also Great to talk to, he was walking around his restaurant making sure everyone was satisfied! There were a ton of selections on the food. We paid I think like $35.00 for the two of us. If I could change anything there, I would add more selections to the dessert section when we went they didn’t have a lot of the toppings for the ice cream machine. (Caramel, sprinkles, hot fudge Etc.)
When we were about to leave Mike Filled up my Purple breastfeeding Cup…. Thank you so much Mike!! You were the best! —————————————————————————
My Recommendations:
-If you’re gonna order a steak, have them freshly cook it! -Mike was a great Server
————————————————————————— Pros: -Great Service from Mike -Great General Manager -Great selection of food! -Clean bathrooms !
Cons: -Not much of a dessert...
Read moreThanksgiving Dinner @ Golden Corral on Lee Highway When we arrived around 3:30, there was a line almost around the corner, and even though it was moving fairly fast, it was really windy and cold so we were freezing our tales off. The staff had two lines to help move customers through as quickly as possible. Once we were in, we found a seat right away and our waitresses was on top of things. She did an amazing job even though she had to have been swamped - I wish I'd have written down her name. We had no problems with having my elderly moms service dog with us (mom is always very discreet). Once settled, we immediately headed out to the extensive salad bar area to get a plate and utensils. Across from there we hurried to the main courses (the buffet is thoughtfully laid out and categorized) of turkey and hand carved ham. The already sliced turkey was lying in pan juices so it didn't dry out. There were also steak, fish, fried chicken, shrimp, meatloaf and pot roast options. The sides were plentiful and delicious... stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, hot rolls and cranberry sauce were all easy to grab despite the crowd. There's additional sides that I didn't get to try, such as mac 'n cheese. The food was fresh and the well organized kitchen staff kept it hot and plentiful. I didn't see them run out of anything. My 7 year old ended up having pepperoni pizza and he even tried a bit of turkey - of which he concluded was juicy and delicious. The dessert bar was amazing, complete with several different cake and pie choices (blueberry, pecan, pumpkin, chocolate cream to name a few) along with a hot chocolate fountain where you could dip a variety of fresh fruit and items like marshmallows on a stick, and the ice cream bar had soft serve with cookie crumbles, gummy worms, hot fudge, maraschino cherries, nuts, and other delicacies that were just perfect for a kid or an adult. All in all, for an extremely crowded facility, the staff really rose to the challenge and made the experience as special as possible. I would highly recommend this buffet to anyone. This location in particular is also very good at accommodating the handicap and infirm. It was well worth the money we spent to have all those amazing choices at hand - something...
Read moreI recently visited the Golden Corral Buffet & Grill, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. From the moment I entered the establishment, it was clear that this dining adventure would be less than satisfying.
First and foremost, the food quality was below an average level. The buffet boasted an array of options, but the majority of the dishes were disappointingly cold and lacked the freshness one would expect. It was evident that the food had been sitting out for an extended period, resulting in an unappetizing dining experience. The lack of proper temperature maintenance raised concerns about the overall hygiene and food safety practices of the establishment.
Furthermore, the food itself seemed not well prepared and not cooked properly. From soggy vegetables to rubbery meats, it was clear that attention to detail was sorely lacking in the kitchen. It left me questioning the competence of the culinary staff and their commitment to delivering a satisfying meal to their patrons.
Despite the culinary letdown, I must commend the waitress for her friendly demeanor and attentiveness. She did her best to make our dining experience more enjoyable, constantly checking in and ensuring we had everything we needed. Unfortunately, her efforts couldn't compensate for the depressing quality of the food.
In conclusion, my visit to Golden Corral Buffet & Grill left me with a sour taste in my mouth, and not just from the lackluster food. While the waitress demonstrated commendable customer service skills, the overall dining experience was marred by cold, poorly cooked dishes. It's evident that improvements are needed in the kitchen to elevate the establishment's reputation and deliver a more enjoyable dining experience...
