TwinDesigns Gift Shop — Local services in Bristol

I have never in my life witnessed a store employee or owner in this case verbally abuse a person like I did today. A young mom with two very young active boys was shopping with her mother in law and the boys uncle when one of the young boys who couldn't have been more than three tore into a toy ripping the packaging. The mom immediately addressed the situation but not before another patron ran up to the owner and told them. The young mom explained that she was terribly sorry and would pay for the item. The owner began to abuse this poor girl verbally. She called her an unfit mother who has no control over her children and in all his years never had this happen! The girl again offered to pay and was told to leave the store immediately and never come back. He told her she should be ashamed of herself and to leave. The girl was naturally in tears at this point. I spoke with her outside and learned that the child is on the spectrum and has sensory issues as well. Both the mom and the children were in tears at this point. This man screamed at this poor mother in front of the entire store including her children. The owner should be ashamed of his actions and she deserves an apology! The child was being watched by his uncle when he opened the package and her mother in law was also close by as was I when I watched this take place.

The store is cluttered with toys and merchandise within reach of a small child. I don't know about y'all but I raised four kids and this HAS happened under my supervision. Kids are quick, things happen, show some grace. The fact that she offered payment and the owner still verbally abused her was just appalling. She was paying for the truck, what do the owners care if he opened it in the store or outside the store? She was paying for it!

These owners are authors of several books on being kind and unique yet this is how they treat a mom and an autistic child. So much for love, kindness and peace. I guess that’s just for the books and to generate cash flow.

Brad and his family ave provided their famous patriotic (flag) card for use in comforting the families of Veterans over these past dozen+ years.
