Sierra — Local services in Brookfield

Update: A manager referred me to the online customer service department and after quite a bit of explanation and help from a friendly in-store employee, we resolved this manner. It took weeks to get cleared up, but finally did. Rating updated.

Great to buy -- Horrible to return

Bought an expensive pair of boots ($136) online. Unfortunately, they didn't work out. I brought them in and even though I was supposed to get my payment back in the original method, the cashier seemed new and made the mistake of issuing an online gift certificate. They told me it would arrive in my email. My phone wasn't getting ANY service in my store, and after speaking to the manager with my concern about leaving the store without money in hand, he reassured me "no one gets service, it will arrive" and I left. About an hour later I saw an email with the subject "Return Notification" and inside was a link to a gift certificate and I was relieved. However, today when I went to go SPEND the $136 on something else, I noticed the message of the certificate said "$136 return gift certificate, but the BALANCE OF THE GIFT CARD IS $0.00!!! The girl must've messed up and typed the balance into the message and left the card at zero. Honestly, this is my own fault for not trusting my instincts and leaving without verification and then not double checking the balance until now, a month later. Horribly frustrated and out a lot of money for me. Will never shop online again. Only buy things you know you...

I have shopped here many times over the last couple years. I came here today for a simple pair of capris. Exercise material, tight material with pockets, size XL. Not picky on color. I am not kidding you when I say I found only ONE option and they were full price of 50.00. The rack, the entire long rack, both sides was all XS, S, M and the area for L or XL was MAYBE a foot wide. I am not exaggerating. I walked that exercise pants rack, huge long rack three times figuring I must be missing the XL. Nope. Like seriously, this is Wisconsin, to have over the half the rack be XS is ridiculous. Besides that, I literally saw nothing for plus size.

I guess Sierra doesn’t like fat people or want them in the store.

It was also super messy in the dressing rooms. I figured they must be short handed, however, when I left the dressing room, there was one male employee looking like he was going through the male clothing on the rack by the outside of the dressing room and a female employee sitting on a bench just chit chatting.

I’ll think twice before...

Store is immaculate, well organized. I had a question regarding 2 items, same style just different colors being two different prices. I expected the standard answers 'everything we have is out and that's our policy'. The manager was kind enough to price match the item and he remembered that my husband and I were in the night before. Super friendly, really accommodating guy. They have great name brand items, wonderful selection of winter sporting attire. I have a feeling I'm actually going to be cute on the snowmobile this year! Those orange snow pants are calling my name! Also, if you have a TJMAX charge card, be sure to get a new one. 5% rewards shopping here. Loved this store. Already started Christmas shopping!
