Mixed review & because of Teri and the night auditor, near the end turned out to be extremely helpful about unrelated issues below. THANK YOU. The 2 young men got a star over time. See last paragraph re: room change. Shortened this a bit but didn't fix punctuation, etc(:||TV frustrating to figure out, no guide on clicker. Had to go through every channel several times to guess what program it seemed to be . No info. With commercials, it took several hours, found 1 channel, that still wasn't any channels I was searching for, but gave up....Later a staff member told me that when clicking on 66, it becomes changes the number to 30, have to wait a moment for the show to appear. that tv in the suite area I didn't watch, too much trouble, no guide, etc. (w/ the same other issues above.)||The phone didn't work no matter spent numerous hours, was told (the same directions as were on the phone.) canceled important calls. ( I'm without a cell.) I requested to look at the phone. No one came because when I turned the phone over, the ringer was on low, so missed my calls for 2 days, I inquired with the off property manager, (during my stay), and she told me they came, and also told me they didn't saying because I wasn't there. They never came to the room. Here 3-4 days (3 nights). Then I inquired again, and was told I could dial an 8 or 9 1st. 9 never worked, (9 was stated on the phone.) If they had really checked out the phone, they would have seen that it couldn't work, by pressing 9; it only works pressing 8 per the young man at the desk. || The lovely Teri, told me she was getting ready to offer a different room, but said I had to cut it short due to ride arriving. The older of the male desk staff eventually told me that he wouldn't change my room because all the phones and tvs were the same.||Manager, well, I'll spare you, and leave on a possitive note. Overall, this is nothing, due to the world at large. Grateful for a bed & a roof. But have been trained to be demanding, compared to most of...
Read moreYou get what you pay for with this place, which comes down to not much. Our experience was similar to other comments.
Room: the room appeared to be quickly cleaned, but not by any means, clean. There was stuff from past guests in the shower, and the bed sheets were very stained. Floor could have definitely used a vacuum. It is hard water in the shower, which ended up being super hard on our hair. There were no channels accessible on the TV, so you had to purchase a $19 + tax movie on OnDemand if you had children that wanted to watch anything in the evening. The overall layout of the room was fine with a couch, desk, and closet.
Pool: it says there is a pool and whirlpool, but there is just a 25-capacity pool - no whirlpool. The chlorine content must have been off in the pool, as it bleached our suits and also ruined some jewelry. This, along with the hard water in the shower, was super hard on our hair and sensitive skin. There are also no showers in the pool area to rinse before/after going in the pool, which I thought was strange. There were a few towels available the first day, but then not again. A lot of water pooled on the floors making it slippery, and also just kind of gross to have to walk through. There were about 6 chairs on the sides.
Breakfast: the breakfast was fine, nothing special or exciting - bread for toast, a few bagels, orange juice, and cereal. There was quite a crowd every morning, but only one pot of coffee was brought out at a time. The team did not seem interested in making more to get ahead.
Overall: the lobby is updated and there is a courtyard/patio type area that was nice to sit at outside. Otherwise, the halls smelled like weed and most parts of the hotel looked a little shabby and unkept. Seems like it was once a decent place that is now going downhill...
Read moreAlright all you hotel hoppers, travelers and getaway-and-get-a-room conosuers....this hotel has plenty of rooms equipped with a balcony!!! Now this is a difficult find in the Milwaukee Area, as many of you may know. Typically, hotel windows are locked shut, so fresh air is an impossibility... well not here! This unassuming hotel (and yes, it is extremely unassuming without a google search) has an inner courtyard area with 1 floor patios & 2nd floor balconies... and, mind you, balconies that you can walk out onto. A narrow area, yes, but needless to say, this is a rarity! The rooms have these pull-out bed couches as well, shaped like remind half-a heart, reminiscent of those heart-shaped Jacuzzis....love it. Also, a A+ on the shampoo/conditioner/body wash .... which is often times overlooked... the brand is Bath & Body Works, the scent is a cool lemon mixture and is stocked I'm the shower in large pump bottles!! Thank you Sonesta Select! Nothing is worse than icky scented toiletries, which at one chain which I will not mention, their brand (in dispensers in the shower) smells I definitely like dog shampoo infused with grass clippings....fail. Anyways, like I said, this location off Moreland Rd is unassuming, so get that GPS out....its set back from the rd and lacking a large sign, and inside one of those frontage rd/executive drives.....FYI. Now one more 1 point of interest, check in time is at 3pm.... my friend went to check in here at such time and his room wasn't ready until 5pm he found to his dismay. He rolled with the punches on this one, but it was obviously unacceptable....I can't speak for his experience though, so that is why I gave them 4 stars for the balcony, toiletries, and that heart-shaped pull out bed. Bravo on...
