I called the store three days in advance to advise the staff that my daughter's party bus would be stopping there for cupcakes as part of her 17th birthday celebration. Upon the arrival of our photographer, she was told that pictures were not allowed to be taken in the shop. She obliged and simply waited for the party bus to arrive with plans to photograph the girls outside. However, a person (did not obtain his name) who apparently was the manager appeared and proceeded to glare at my photographer as if to say "I dare you to take a photograph". She was told by the manager that "he can not turn over the store" for the group and we could not block the door. Ironically, it was a Sunday afternoon, there were no other customers in the store and the girls had not even arrived so how could he even arbitrarily assume that they would block the door? Needless to say, when the party bus arrived, I immediately redirected all 20 of my daughter's guests to another establishment as I refused to patronize a business with such poor customer service. The girls would have taken selfies and ultimately promoted Smallcakes via all of their respective social media handles. Clearly, the importance of customer service and satisfaction is not the priority of this Smallcakes Cupcakery location. What savvy small enterprise risks turning away business? I will never give this place another dime of my money and will continue to patronize the location in Snellville which is where we should have gone in the first place!! I do not tolerate rudeness and poor customer service. I am totally disenchanted! I wonder if all of the extra cupcakes that I ordered were ultimately sold to the "crowds" of other customers that the manager wanted to ensure we did not block gaining...
Read moreCustomer service was not good! The Asian woman working at the Druid Hills location last week wasn't friendly & seemed agitated that I asked her to a) box the 2 cupcakes I purchased in separate boxes; and 2) I later asked for a bag to prevent cupcakes from sliding across my car. (I bought the cupcakes for 2 little girl's to take home with them as treats. They live in 2 separate households). She told me she'd have to charge me for the extra box and was very indifferent about it. I inquired about when this practice began and explained that I was a long time customer and had never been charged for a second box. (I have purchased bulk cupcakes for a few of my events from this location.) This is even more unfortunate because these cupcakes taste like cakemix --- in the artificial side, however the location is convenient. The good news though is that I live in Buckhead and there are a plethora of "real" bakeries that sell high quality baked goods AND also offer great customer service for my patronage! So, that's where I'll be going from now on! BTW, she did not charge me for...
Read moreI come to this location all the time. The cupcakes are absolutely delicious! Always wonderful. However, I am giving a 1 star rating today, because I just had an awful customer service experience. The lady that is usually working at this location always comes off a bit rude, but Iâve always dismissed it; today, however, she became very upset with me, in front of other customer when I simply inquired about hole punches on cupcake cards because I didnât know any better. All I needed was simple education, and she visibly got upset with me, raised her tone, and told me that she thinks itâs funny that people just walk in and ask these ridiculous questions. I immensely apologized to her, and she still wouldnât stop. So I eventually just told her that Iâm ready to checkout and quietly left, feeling humiliated as other watched. Great cupcakes. Terrible experience. Customer service...
