My review may be partial since I am a business owner, but downtown Brookings is FABULOUS.
For a decade, my husband and I spent most Saturdays enjoying a cup of coffee and strolling the shops before enjoying lunch or a few afternoon beverages. We got to know many of the business owners and employees and are often greeted by nake and aleaus with a friendly smile.
Many of the bars and restaurants have cute patios, and each shop has a unique personality. The summer concert series Downtown at Sundown and Music on Main provide excellent free family entertainment and events like Crazy Days, Polar Plunge, the Fireman's Dance and the different parades throughout the year make downtown Brookings fun for the whole family! Many of the stores have special play areas for kids, and many of the businesses join together for Sip and Shops throughout the year to create some fun for adults, too!!
