I live nearby and own a considerable portion of land next to what's called "Cooks Corner," which used to be a (½ indoor / ½ outdoor) shoppingâmall. Now, it's a newer Hannaford, Big Lots, TJ Maxx, and a Dollar Tree ... Sears, which was there my entire life is gone, and looking rather runâdown. Cinema 4 has/had been replaced by Advance Auto Parts. Nearby, we had Regal Cinema, but thatâalso shut down recently ... completely abandoned. There are a few nearby businesses & banks ... lately, (sadly) it's gone south. They keep building and ADDING, but not repairing anything. It's congested, beat up, and is no longer appealing ... Moreso, "appalling." It's all surrounded by "muchâneeded" housing & medical buildings. Taxes are at an allâtime high ... the whole area isn't what I'd consider: "bustling." Not anymore. I am actually saddened by it ... It used to be such a pretty and quiet community ... Now, the road we live on, a lot of us that [used to] enjoy safely walking (Thomas Point/Harding/Adams/Woodward Point) has become a local thruâway for BIW traffic - at times, seems like the local dragâstrip. I'll be moving once my child graduates. I know I won't be missed ... not until they turn our 64 acres into a "MUCH NEEDED"...

The one thing you will notice sitting at the bar is this is where the locals go. No tourists to be found and ingredients the impression that they are just fine with that. I didn't have any seafood but have been told it's the best around. The potato skins were potatoes cut in half perpendicular to the length of the potato and hollowed out so the ingredients were scalding hot and stayed so as they were well insulated by the deep pocket of the potato! They needed a bit of salt and pepper but were quite tasty. Beer selection was decent as well and getting to know the drunk lobstahman who sat next to me was quite the experience! When in...
Read moreDoing well at Bailey's Island. Today was a little disappointing. Had a cup of clam chowder which was disappointing in that it was not hot and was loaded with potato. Just an adequate amount of clam pieces. Also ordered a lobster. He was one of the most difficult LOBSTERS to eat I have had in many years. He was great!! Loaded from one end to the other. This guy appeared to be stuffed into his shell. Obviously was getting ready to shed as he had nowhere else to go in that she'll. The shell was like armor. Had fun extracting the meat from the shell....
