The Glynn Place Mall is hanging in there, but it's a shadow of it's former self. Few stores seem able to survive for long. Every time they get a cool new store in, it's gone before long. Arcades, bookstores, toy stores, comic shops, electronics shops, outlet stores, department stores, pawn shops, discount stores, restaurants, they've all been here, and they're all gone now. Even the food court has only two shops left. Of its anchors, only Belk's remains. It's never a good sign for a mall when one of its anchor spots is taken over by a church. They do have Pop Vault, a gym, a jeweler's and some clothes shops, and, oddly, a radio station. They hosted a fan convention this year, so attempts are being made. Read moreThere are few stores here, but Belk has taken over five stores which means we customers can "Belk shop" to our hearts' contents with room and space aplenty. The Sears store is the other anchor, but the food court is down to 3 choices but I did enjoy the teriyaki chicken and grilled veggies
The perimeter is dotted with the standard mall restaurants, but we would still have to drive, park, redrive, park, enter the mall, etc. That was the original idea of malls...food and stores under 1 roof. Now it is drive all over from store to store to restaurant to store and retailers are closing because I save $$$$$ by online buying and never getting in the car once.
