Well, the food is good. But tonight was the last straw for us. They have their hours posted on the door...they close at 9:30. Having worked in the restaurant industry for 30+ years, I am sensitive to that. However, also because I am VERY familiar with the industry, I know this means that you should welcome customers to ENTER the restaurant up until 9:30. We arrived a little after 8:00, ordered dinner and a bottle of wine. At 9:30, an employee came to our table to tell us it was 9:30...it was time to go. We already had our keys out, had paid our bill and we're literally drinking the last few sips of wine. This was after the waitress had asked us multiple times PRIOR to 9:30 if we were done actually reaching for our plates and glasses. There was a table with three men also in the restaurant. They arrived after us, had all eaten dinners and were drinking beer and saki. They were also told told it was time for them to leave as well. As we all walked out the door at 9:33, they mopped around us, stacked chairs and turned off lights. NEVER AGAIN...They need to change their hours if operation to reflect 8:30...because they intend to be out the door...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to try this restaurant on our 5 year wedding anniversary. The food was not up to par. After receiving our meal I asked the waitress for teriyaki sauce for my husband because his steak was dry. I asked and did not receive. I had to go up to the counter like I was ordering and ask the person up front for teriyaki sauce. When we did receive the teriyaki sauce it was ice cold (literally). No one came to our table to check on our drinks for refills, to ask how the food was, not even ask if we needed extra napkins. But, you better believe they check on everyone else in the restaurant. I read a post on here a couple of weeks ago, posted by an African American women saying she received horrible service as well. I was thinking, maybe she just had a bad experience because surely they wouldn't treat her and her husband any different from any other customer. Well....little did I know her experience was very real because we experienced the same thing tonight. I could say so much more but we'll just take our money back to Wasabi in Camden County (best hibachi AND SERVICE)....
Read moreIf I could sum up this experience with a word, it would be…ehh…This place isn’t bad, per se. However, it isn’t very astonishing either. The food came out very quick, and it was enjoyable, about as much as the average meal should be. The atmosphere leaves much to be desired, as it is pretty small and dark in there. As far as the service, the waitress did not really speak to me. She only came up to the table to fill my water a couple times, but just pours the drink and leaves. If you’re looking for a quick, average hibachi place with all of the menu basics, I guess this will suffice. If you are looking for really good Asian cuisine, or a date night, or a cool spot with a nice atmosphere for dinner out with friends, this is NOT IT. Trust me, not worth it. However, at the same time it wasn’t THAT bad. Just……lacking. There are far better asian style restaurants...
