Scoops Away Cake & Ice Cream — Restaurant in Georgia

From what I'm reading, this place is relatively new. Pros: the staff was nice, the place was clean, the butterscotch milkshake was good and my 2 yo daughter was satisfied with her ice cream. Cons: I'm not sure if the employees were new or not but the two young men they had working tonight had no idea what I was trying to order. I had to physically point it out on the menu. I ordered a cheesecake dreams Xtreme cup and plainly said I wanted it to be strawberry cheesecake. When it was brought out to me, it was plain vanilla ice cream with plain cheesecake and no cherry. I just ate the cheesecake because we'd already waited 30+ minutes and had an antsy toddler. (My husband didn't get a receipt so I didn't actually see what they'd typed in for the purchase when I ordered) . The employees were moving slowly and the couple that came in after us ended up getting a refund and leaving. They seemed like nice gentleman and thanked my husband for the tip he left when we ordered but they just seemed very unmotivated. Also I ordered a single scoop for my 2 yo daughter and they gave us a HUGE cup of ice cream. Not sure if this is their typical "single" scoop or not but it was a lot of ice cream for my daughter. I hope since it's relatively new that the owners will take all reviews into consideration to make their business the best it can be because this place has great potential but we did not expect to wait so long for three treats, one of them being wrong after the employees acted like they had no idea what item I was ordering until I showed them on the menu. This was my second time visiting this establishment and sadly it was not the experience I was hoping for. When we walked in it was pretty busy as it seemed a large party was finishing up their order. Me and my little brother waited patiently and were informed we would be helped momentarily. No problem. I tried one flavor, then a second. After trying the second flavor “BRIT” the cashier, proceeds to say I can go ahead and take you down here when you’re ready. Why are we being rushed to the register after testing 2 flavors when it was clear I was still deciding??? Weird. I felt uncomfortable at that point and decided to to just go with the first flavor. Now there is no one else in the store at this point for her to be rushing us like this. The two other employees are not busy at all. She proceeds to tell me the total and as I’m giving her payment she has still not told the other employees what flavor I wanted.. weird. Once I am done with the transaction the other employee has to literally come up to her to ask her what flavor I ordered so he can make my cone. Odd. We then had to wait for our ONE scoop of ice cream to be prepared as if “BRIT” expected us to run out the store with one scoop of ice cream If we didn’t HURRY UP & BUY. All in all this experience felt very demeaning and I did not feel valued or respected as a customer. Can’t help but to think we were profiled and that’s unfortunate considering the employee herself was a person of color. Visited July 30 th @ 5:45 … we had 5 kids with us we tipped 25% between us & upon leaving while loading up all 5 kids toddlers included a Male employee comes all the way across the parking lot & Says You need to go pick up your trash !… We are fighting with 5 kids trying to load & strap into carseats & He says it again . We are like what ? He says Did yall sit at the middle table ?, You need to come pick up your trash !… First We tipped you 25% & literally a small cup that had nothing in it & 1 napkin got left behind after spending around $80 or so for 7 ppl. FIRST OFF HOW RUDE !… & Then to say It wouldn’t have been a problem if yall would have picked up your trash !. Second Yesterday we visited Jekyl Island Market & Im sure somewhere some how we left something not on purpose & Was Not Flagged Down Across a Whole parking lot to come pick up a Single napkin & a unused cup . The Rudeness Will Def Stay With me & i will Def Not Go Back or Pass the business on to anyone i know coming to visit the area …...
