I joined for 10 weeks because my pool is closed. Beware, a large percentage of the clientele: 1. Are lax or not wearing masks at all around the pools. 2. Use the pools as some sort of social occasion with zero knowledge or respect for either social distancing or even any basic awareness of pool etiquette. I was swimming today and had to stop at least 5x because of a group directly in front of me, socializing, and refusing to move. There is no effort to police the lack of masks, or not staying in a lane. There may be some form of cultural misunderstanding, as apparently a fairly large section of the clientele, believ the pools are provided as a cool down (again without showering), and as a place to gather, standing waist deep. Every other pool I have seen requires one person per lane, and even registration. In the locker room to the outside pool as well as out on the deck, I have heard numerous complaints. Management needs to take this seriously and have staff members posted by pool to 1. require a shower (the cologne on some of the men is noxious) 2. social distancing and 3. not walking across the pool or even diving almost on top of us who actually want to swim. Even posting a sign in multiple languages, stating "Stop! You must shower before entering the pool area and mask, and respect lane lines and social distancing" Really too bad, the facilities are quite nice, but likely the pool will be filthy in a...
Read moreI joined Sky Fitness in February of 2023.
A few friends encouraged me to join so we could play basketball.
My whole life I have been overweight, and working out was not something I did for both mentally lazy reasons and also self conscious reasons.
The self conscious stuff stemmed from feeling judged or shameful because I was not fit. At Sky, there is no judgement, unlike other gyms there are no alarms or an enforced âno judgement zone.â All the patrons are extremely friendly and the staff is as helpful and cordial as possible.
You wonât find Gen Z losers taking photos of themselves in mirrors or recording their workouts in a pretentious attempt to find meaning in their vapid lives.
Long story short, Sky care about their members and it shows.
From the immaculate gym equipment, to the studios, to the cross fit gym, to the pool, Sky management cares about how their facility appears and more importantly: functions.
The equipment is cleaned multiple times a day, Iâve witnessed it myself.
The locker room facility, the jacuzzi, steamroom and sauna are top tier and sometimes if Iâm too tired to workout I just use those facilities.
I think the most important part is the value I feel I get. I live very close to MidTown and Lifetime but theyâre cost prohibitive for me. Sky offers everything they do at a reasonable monthly rate and thatâs the crux of my decision to be a member as well as why I continue to...
Read moreTried Sky Fitness out while I was searching for s new place to workout close to my new job. The staff was very helpful and courteous, I believe I spoke with Larry about memberships and took a tour with him. He was more than willing answer my questions.
They have a great variety equipment and activities to do there. It was also by far the cleanest gym I've seen initially. overall, they have a lot of things in a small space, which is good and bad.
I like to focus on weights and cardio. While the cardio area was great. If that is what you are into, it's perfect. I was dissatisfied with the weights section. I felt cramped and continuously had to maneuver around multiple pieces of equipment at times to put weights on the equipment I was on. I also was disappointed by there being no designated deadlift platforms.
After comparing what they had to offer, hours, and my experience, combined with the pricing. I did not find it the best value for me, but I recommend trying them out for yourself and making your...
